Purpose
Leads Business Deposit Products in Canada ensuring that business deposit strategies, plans and initiatives are executed/delivered and contribute to the sustainable and profitable growth of the portfolio, while following governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. 

 

The Portfolio consists of a variety of deposit products that primarily consists of Interest Bearing and Non Interest Bearing Accounts, as well as GICs/Term Deposits. The incumbent partners with Sales (Corporate, Commercial, Small Business, and Wealth) to identify and prioritize business deposit opportunities by leveraging on-the-ground expertise and resources, adjusting support to meet segment needs and capabilities. The incumbent and their team also support the develop of deposit acquisition strategies and assist with performance measurement and target setting. 

 

The contributions of this unit represent a significant source of revenue for the Bank, with strong visibility and focus within the Bank and across the marketplace.


What You’ll Do:

  • Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships by leveraging institutional knowledge and broader Bank relationships.
  • Identifies, develops, and executes strategic plans that contribute to the sustainable growth, profitability and overall success of business deposit portfolios across Canadian Banking, Global Banking & Markets (GBM) and Global Wealth Management (GWM).
  • Collaborates with GTB units, GBM, Commercial, Small Business and GWM to develop and communicate a vision and strategy to guide the future growth of the business deposits across diverse markets. 
  • Identifies and monitors business trends, competitive intelligence, market best practices, regulatory restrictions, and client feedback to ensure strategies meet client needs. 
  • Identifies and evaluates market- and segment-specific opportunities, potential new products/product enhancements, sales strategies, and market positioning options, with guidance from local market and other GTB partners with a deposit focused mandate. 
  • Reviews, evaluates, and leads the development of strategic proposals and business cases that contribute to business line deposit strategies and objectives of GTB and its partners. Where required, lobby with internal and external stakeholders to obtain buy-in and resources to proceed with projects.
  • Formulates and communicates GTB’s strategic objectives to the field and provides direction, advice and/or authorization on issues with strategic implications. 
  • Sponsors customer and product research and analysis to improve product revenue and market share. 
  • Oversees all aspects of Deposit Product Management in conjunction with applicable stakeholders: development, maintenance, systems, strategy, client & sales support, marketing, documentation, regulation, governance & compliance, risk management, audit, policies, procedures, and defining roles & responsibilities across team(s).   
  • Directs product development and management, based on GTB’s product governance processes, to ensure competitive and comprehensive products. This may include proof-of-concept initiatives, product pilots and rollouts, developing Product Master Plans
  • Optimizes process improvement by supporting and improving customer experience with business services through the refinement of policies, practices and processes related to business deposits. 
  • Communicates policies, processes and objectives to the field and provides direction or authorization on issues with policy implications. 
  • Supports the delivery of high standards of customer service, support and satisfaction related to business deposit products. 
  • Provides effective support and assistance in developing training programs for business development, product knowledge, and policy and procedures.

What You'll Bring:

  • Detailed understanding of the deposit products/services 
  • Expertise of the Bank’s application systems and their relationships within the Bank. 
  • Thorough knowledge of outside market and competitive products. 
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal/negotiating skills. 
  • Degree/post graduate degree preferably in business. 
  • Several years of management experience and relevant experience. 
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate and guide a diverse group working in this complex and challenging area. 
  • The position requires a good knowledge of the Bank’s risk policies and procedures. 


Work Arrangement: 

  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
