Manager, Paid Search (SEM)

Strategic development, execution and ongoing optimization of paid search campaigns across all supported lines of business
Analyze native ad platform and clickstream analytics to identify performance trends and actionable opportunities
Responsible for the management of program budgets and the allocation of budgets across core business lines / products. The incumbent will be accountable for balancing search demand opportunities and budget allocation ensuring channel targets are achieved (volume and profitability)     
Work closely with copywriters on the development of ad copy. Communicate copy requirements (offers, benefits, product features etc.) and delivery dates
Provide weekly performance results and insights to the greater marketing and business groups
Liaise with marketing, brand and the various business lines to ensure there is channel alignment
Manage, update and distribute PPC forecasts and search demand analysis
Ensure paid search best practices are employed 
Stay on top of industry trends and platform/provider updates while evaluating opportunities for innovation and learning    
Keyword research leveraging 3rd party and native ad platform tools ensuring both positive and negative keyword lists are optimized for success
Liaise with internal translation services team on French ad copy and keyword development    
Manage search engine vendor relationships (Google/Bing) ensuring there is program goal alignment, communication of quarterly budgets and a commitment from the provider side to keep Scotiabank top of mind for Alpha/Beta and new feature launches 
Collaborate with internal marketing teams ensuring there is alignment of messaging and initiative focus. The incumbent will be responsible for understanding all integrated marketing activity and optimizing Scotiabank’s paid search campaigns to account for increased awareness and search demand
Partner with legal and compliance teams to certify that all paid search campaigns and tactics are adhering to Scotiabank guidelines 
Optimize paid search program through the testing of various performance leavers’ such as ad copy, landing pages, bidding strategies, negative keywords etc.  
Expand the visibility and working knowledge of SEM across the organization through presenting and communicating SEM best practices, core findings and emphasizing the channels importance in the marketing mix 

Proven track record in managing large, complex Search Engine Marketing campaigns        
Ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships
Strong paid search native platform experience with Google AdWords and Bing Ads
Hands on experience with bid management platforms 
Data driven mindset with advanced experience using Google Analytics and/or Adobe Analytics
Tag management experience will be considered an asset   
Strong working knowledge of both SEM and SEO best practices
