Purpose:
Working with their manager and their peers, the incumbent is responsible for overseeing and supporting release management for a suite of Global Transaction Banking electronic cash management products - generally having to do with Payments, Reporting, Online Services and Information flow.  He/she will provide technical solutions and support usually in the areas of connectivity, data security, data representation, and operational processes.   This support extends to not only synthesizing solutions using existing products and functionality but also overseeing the building and operating of new applications and systems within Global Transaction Banking. 

As well, the incumbent acts in a consultation / advisory role on GTB products to ensure that products are technically compatible with market expectations as well as ensuring quality tools are available for support..

The incumbent works independently, receiving general direction from his or her Manager, with responsibility to participate in a collaborative and coordinated fashion with interdivisional product and sales groups. 

Key Accountabilities:
- Have a general knowledge of GTB business needs for which the function is intended 
- General knowledge and understanding of how customers/users interact with the systems 
- Ensure applications takes into account requirements for robustness, reliability, scalability, availability, and ability to be rapidly developed and easily enhanced.
- Ensure code development is carried out in accordance with unit’s standards, and where code will be promoted to production through IT&S, that agreed upon external standards are met.
- Ensure systems are documented according to the unit’s standards.
- Ensure that problems identified during testing or in production are dealt with and corrected.


2.Operational Support within the  GTB Environment.

Although each application is unique and different, they all fall within the general space of the the GTB payments, reporting and information products, and thus have a great deal of commonality.

 Work with their manager to define;
- The operational standards within the GTB Environment, from operational design, the administration tools, the data flows, the reporting, the alerting mechanism, to ensure that similar functions work in similar ways to make the architecture as supportable and predictable as possible.
- Operational standards used by the team.
- The documentation standards used by the team.
- Ensure production SLA met and escalate issues when required
- Investigate and recommend solutions to address production problem

Skills:
1-2 years experience in Agile Project methodologies coupled with business experience an asset.
1-2 years in ITIL Methodologies (Incident & Problem Management)
1-2 years in Report design and automation

General understanding of technologies employed to integrate client systems to bank systems including data communications, data security, data representation.  

General knowledge of the Bank’s application systems and their relationships within the Bank, or solid understanding of the financial services industry, with a particular emphasis on corporate banking.

General knowledge of product development methodologies.

Excellent communication/interpersonal/negotiating skills.

Highly motivated, innovative and results-oriented individual with excellent analytical and problem solving skills


Educational Requirements:
University degree in computer science or related discipline and/or a minimum of 4 years practical experience.
