Senior Manager, Planning and Performance - Toronto, ON

 

Contributes to the overall success of Retail Client Value & Primacy through building our reporting & insights capabilities, and supporting the development of client acquisition and retention tactics. Ensure delivery of key Client, Product, Channel, and profitability objectives for the Canadian Retail Bank.

 

Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

  • Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

 

  • Lead Client Value & Primacy (CVP) portfolio reporting and facilitate creation of dashboards, insights, and narratives for partners, management team, and executives
    • Build and enhance reporting on key KPIs (e.g., product sales by channel) and tailor supplementary metrics for business lines and initiatives.
    • Collaborate with product teams to align insights across product and channel views.
    • Develop compelling presentations and support narratives to inform strategic decision-making at all levels, including executive audiences 

 

  • Forecast and plan for portfolio Primacy KPIs and partner’s New Accounts Acquired in partnership with Finance and product owners 
    • Incorporate initiatives and external market factors into forecasting models and track performance against targets
    • Present results and insights to product teams, CVP partners, and Finance stakeholders

 

  • Drive analytical rigor by partnering with Data & Analytics teams to prioritize requests and ensure timely delivery of insights. 

 

  • Own CVP Portfolio Clients Business Unit Reviews and, as required, deliver executive-level PowerPoint decks that clearly communicate performance, insights, and strategic recommendations

 

  • Support the design of segmentation frameworks and profitability programs that shape how we serve clients and grow primacy

 

  • Creates an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while  ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Undergraduate degree in Economics, Finance, Analytics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.  
  • Advanced Excel skills, including experience in building models, reports.
  • Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis tools such as SAS, SQL, or equivalent.
  • Experience with modern data visualization platforms like Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
  • Strong strategic thinking with a focus on driving measurable results.
  • Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
  • Skilled in presenting data-driven insights clearly to senior audiences.
  • Proficient in creating visually compelling and professional PowerPoint presentation tailored to executive-level discussions.
  • Deep understanding of the Canadian banking landscape, including products, channels, client segments, and competitive dynamics.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in team leadership and collaborative execution across departments.
