Introduction

 

The Manager, Business Operations plays an important role in supporting ScotiaMcLeod’s national Wealth Management platform. This role provides operational support to the National Sales Management team and helps maintain strong, consistent processes across ScotiaMcLeod’s branch and advisor network.

 

In this role, you will support key activities related to advisor compensation, performance reporting, policy administration, program tracking, and field support. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys detailed operational work, stakeholder service, reporting, and problem solving in a regulated wealth management environment.

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

In this role you will:

  • Support advisor compensation and performance processes, including policy implementation, annual reviews, reporting, tracking, and issue resolution.
  • Investigate and respond to field inquiries related to commission-based issues and compensation processes.
  • Manage grid-level change processes and support administration of the Discount Sharing Policy.
  • Provide guidance to Branch Management teams on compensation-related questions and operational requirements.
  • Maintain reporting for key programs and provide analysis to Senior Sales Management, Regional Offices, and Branch Managers.
  • Support the External Household Program intake and approval process, including monitoring, investigation, reporting, and policy support.
  • Work with internal partners including HR, Payroll, Finance, Operations, Sales Management, Regional Offices, Branch Managers, and Senior Management.
  • Support Sales Management policies, projects, process improvements, and ad hoc initiatives.
  • Provide backup support for Advisor Partnership Agreements, Succession Plans, database maintenance, and related analysis.
  • Help maintain effective controls, risk awareness, compliance obligations, and operational efficiency.

 

DO YOU HAVE THE SKILLS

We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Experience in the securities industry or a wealth management environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder service skills, with comfort working across multiple internal teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Ability to review financial data, identify gaps, maintain accuracy, and support data integrity.
  • Comfort handling sensitive or confidential information with accuracy and discretion.
  • Experience supporting advisor compensation, performance reporting, business operations, policy administration, or branch management teams is an asset.
  • Exposure to regulated financial services environments and risk/control expectations is an asset.
