Purpose

 

Sales and Credit Solutions, Indirect Ag Financing is responsible for providing support to the IAF senior leadership as it relates to both sales support and customer-facing activity, as well as the credit solutions and adjudication process.

 

The incumbent must demonstrate a high standard of customer service, initiative, and detail-orientation to contribute to the profitable growth and quality of the IAF portfolio.

 

The successful candidate will spend 2/3 of their time providing sales support and engaging in customer-facing activity by effectively communicating to our independent dealer network and individual customers, creating reporting and other ad-hoc tasks as required by the senior leadership team. The remaining time will provide credit support by analyzing and drafting lending documents and processing individual customer applications.

 

This position is in the Winnipeg Commercial Banking Office. The portfolios have seasonality during which tight deadlines and occasional extended working hours can be expected.

 

 Accountabilities

 

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Provides support as required to IAF’s senior leadership team for client-facing, credit and/or fulfillment activities.
  • Demonstrates initiative and proactivity in all interactions and processes, ensuring consistent and timely follow-up to all communications and actionable items.

 

 

Provide superior customer service to the network Farm Supply Dealerships and individuals by:

 

  • Maintaining a good working relationship with IAF third party partners and all internal partners.
  • Responding promptly and effectively to all communication from customers, dealers, IAF third party partners, team members and internal partners.
  • Developing and maintaining a deep understanding of IAF and Bank policies and procedures.

Strong understanding of the programs offered, including the benefits to both the Dealers and the customers.

  • Efficiently support IAF management by preparing credit applications and recommendations, while ensuring that all the required customer information has been provided and that it is complete and accurate.
  • Creating and executing all ad hoc report requests received from the IAF senior leadership team.
  • Preparing and delivering external IAF presentations to the IAF’s third party partners.

 

 

Contribute to the Department’s goals and Bank’s financial and non-financial objectives by:

 

  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in all day-to-day activities.
  • Completing all documentation accurately as per Bank standards in order to protect both the organization and the customer.
  • Actively pursuing effective and efficient operations of their respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook, and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

Credit support:

 

  • Organize and prepare documentation and correspondence relating to customer requirements.
  • Recording information from various sources to complete customer reports and records on client profiles.
  • Controlling incoming applications and compliance requests by logging, reporting, and monitoring them to establish records and to support the adjudication process.
  • Completing due diligence on customer applications, including Commodity Board verifications, bank reference checks, Corporate Searches, and reviewing financial statements and/ or income tax returns; ensuring all aspects of the application including KYC and AML are within policy.
  • Completing review, recommendation, and approval on applications according to current credit policy.
  • Participating in AML/Compliance reports and correspondence preparation.
  • Completing the spreading of financial statements and/ or customer financial information in Credit Lens in an accurate and timely manner as per authorized frequency requirements.
  • Keeping up to date of changes in accounting practices, federal/ provincial tax regulations, and other factors as they relate to the interpretation of financial statements.
  • Ensuring that all relevant correspondence and authorizations are properly stored in the Shared Document Repository (SDR).
  • Preparing reports and correspondence including form letters to inform clients of crucial dates and information.

 

 

 

Dimensions

 

Yield More Financing distributed as Indirect Ag Financing through a network of independent farm supply dealerships located across Canada. All in-house support provided for approximately 3,500 customers and $300 million dollars of authorized credit across Canada.

 

 

The incumbent will support work on moderately complex financial solutions, will interact with external and internal partners, clients, and dealers and will need to gather information and respond to inquiries. The incumbent will complete the analysis process and any other processes as directed by the IAF senior leadership team. They may make recommendations for further review or requests for more detailed information on the customer/ prospect. 

 

 

The incumbent is expected to be able to resolve issues and problems, but also to recognize the need to escalate to superiors were prudent.

 

 

The incumbent is expected to have the ability to deal with time sensitive requests, competing priorities and fluctuating call, email volumes. Workloads are subject to time pressures due to trading environment sensitivities and changes in priorities.

 

 

The incumbent is expected to maintain the confidentiality of information within an open concept office environment.

 

 

Education / Experience / Other Information (include only those that are specific to the role)

 

The successful candidate must have demonstrated customer-service and strong communication and organizational skills to provide support to IAF’s Relationship Managers and conduct customer-facing activity.

 

 

They must have proven financial analysis and risk assessment techniques for analyzing financial statements as well as good credit judgement and a good knowledge of the Bank’s lending policies, practices, and procedures. Critical attention to detail is necessary for success.

 

 

Bachelor of Commerce or Business Degree with at least 3 years of related work experience.

 

 

Functional competencies:

  • Highly organized, resourceful, and able to multi-task and prioritize with minimal oversight
  • High degree of flexibility is required to adapt to a wide variety of tasks and functions
  • Strong customer-service orientation, familiarity with financial analysis and risk assessment techniques as well as good credit judgement and a good knowledge of the Bank’s lending policies, practices and procedures including a commitment to ensuring all KYC, AML/ATF policies are adhered to
  • Advanced attention to detail required for compliance reviews and reporting
  • Knowledge or experience with Credit Lens considered an asset
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, especially with Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Strong personal and Interpersonal skills to effectively interface with customers, dealers, and internal stakeholders
  • Team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn
  • Good knowledge of the Bank’s commercial products and services as well as Bank regulations
  • Knowledge of the agriculture industry considered an asset

 

 

                                                                                                                                                             

Working Conditions

 

Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence due to seasonality of the business volumes. Periodic travel may be required.
