Wealth Management - Financial Planner Intern/Co-op (Western Canada) – Summer 2026

The Women’s Advisory Team is designed to introduce students to the dynamic, client-focused environment at Scotia Global Wealth Management and provides the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute meaningfully to the business. If you’re curious about a future as a Financial Planner, this role offers an excellent foundation to learn how financial planning works in practice and explore the skills needed for success in the field.
Reporting directly to the Regional Vice-President, Scotia Financial Planning – Western Canada and the National Head of Women Planners, you will gain exposure to their day in a life, the branch network, senior leadership and valuable insights into how strategic decisions shape client experiences.
In this role, you will:

Be mentored by a team of Women Financial Planners
-
Support the team by preparing for client meetings.
-
Assist and support in virtual and in-person financial planning client meetings.

Assist and support team meetings at different Scotiabank branches.
-
Assist and support in business development meetings.
-
Support operational excellence through the execution of day-to-day administrative tasks and activities.
-
Be a Trusted Business Partner; build cross-functional partnerships to optimize business outcomes.

Responsible for executing capacity enablers (National Practice Standards) for Financial Planners to grow their business portfolios.

Be a part of the bigger financial planning team environment by participating in team meetings, team events and national events

Join and support special projects/analyses on an ad hoc basis as assigned by the Regional Vice-President
Do you have the skills and requirements that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if:

You are currently enrolled in post-secondary education

You have experience in finance, accounting, or economics

You are highly motivated, independent, innovative, and results-oriented

You have excellent written and verbal communication skills

You are proficient in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Access

You work well under pressure
-
You can lead high volume, time sensitive projects
