The Market Lead is a regional management position responsible for leading and overseeing the business strategies, plans and initiatives of a Custody Services team that provides services to wealthy private clients and institutional investors. The incumbent is accountable for the effective and profitable delivery of services, is client-centric with a proactive approach to managing a team and managing relationships with internal partners in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. The position is also responsible for the identification and pursuit of new business, working with partners and the National Director.

 

Key Job Accountabilities

  1. Team Management & Client Service
    • •Manage a team and its delivery of professional and proactive services to clients and partners. Demonstrate product expertise and personal integrity, championing a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and build broader Bank relationships.
    • Accountable for team staffing and motivation through the setting of objectives, training, and managing annual performance reviews and employee development plans. • Plan and execute business strategies and budgets that complement and support the objectives of maximizing profitability and ensuring client satisfaction. Identify and drive new business opportunities, along with partners and the Director; driving the coordination, presentation, and implementation of services.
    • Proactively liaise with internal support groups (i.e. GWO, SWM-Operations), to investigate and resolve issues, escalating and referring matters to other resources where appropriate.
    • Manage more complex / higher profile client relationships.

 

  1. Risk Management •
    • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
    • Ensuring thorough knowledge and strict adherence to the Bank’s Global Sales Practices.
    • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
    • Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviors; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.

 

Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma
  • Management experience in the financial services industry
  • Strong end-user computer skills
  • Entrepreneurial with proven ability to manage a team that represents the business in delivering a proactive and responsive client experienc
