As an iOS developer, you will be supporting the contribution and development of the Scotiabank Global Canvas Design System in iOS. You will be also supporting all projects that uses Canvas within Scotia Digital on iOS components for PAC countries, including Canada, Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Chile, CCAU.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Support our iOS development communities and scrum teams in response to inquiries, concerns, requests and releases about Canvas components
  • Onboard and provide guidance to new development teams to create canvas components via inner source processes to contribute back to Canvas platform
  • Create and maintain Canvas program documentation (e.g. training videos)
  • Provide consultation on new components or improvements on existing components
  • Improve our current development components creation and contribution processes 
  • Review how teams are implementing Canvas as needed
  • Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
  • Research, develop and test upcoming new iOS frameworks to determine best iOS Canvas components migration path for dev scrum teams
  • Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices
  • Have a high aptitude for diving in, taking ownership and picking up new things

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? 

  • 3+ years of software development for native mobile development experience, (conceptualization, design, development and debugging): iOS platform – Swift, Swift UI, RxSwift, Swinject, XCode
  • Familiar with building mobile accessibility components to improve application usability
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
  • Strong coding abilities and experience with Java
  • Experienced with advanced JavaScript frameworks (NodeJS, ReactJS etc.)
  • Experience designing clean and maintainable REST & SOAP APIs 
  • Experience consuming web services and HTTP REST interaction with JSON and XML 
  • Passion and expertise for UI 
  • Knowledge of iOS performance profiling tools and optimization techniques
  • Experience in functional testing & unit testing frameworks
  • A problem solver who can patiently listen to, understand, and address complex issues
  • Love helping people and guiding them to the best solution for their issue
  • Provide calm conflict resolution and problem resolution for frustrated developers
  • Navigate multiple applications and research solutions with ease
  • Excellent time management skills and can make decisions quickly
