The Talent Development & Learning Experiences team is a high-performing group within the broader Performance Enablement framework. The team is accountable for the design, governance, and delivery of capability development, onboarding, and talent programs that empower employees in Canadian Commercial Banking to perform their roles effectively, consistently, and in compliance with regulatory and operational requirements. Our mission is to deliver impactful training and learning initiatives that enhance the client experience and optimize internal operations for greater efficiency.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Workforce Strategy & Transformation, the Specialist will work closely with senior management, business line leaders, and a diverse group of stakeholders to drive the successful execution of key talent initiatives. These initiatives include, but are not limited to, intern programs, new graduate programs, internal mobility and other innovative, high-impact programs designed to shape the future talent landscape.
These efforts are integral to Scotiabank’s strategic talent priorities, which focus on attracting, developing, and retaining top talent—thereby strengthening the talent pipeline within Canadian Commercial Banking. The Specialist will contribute to the overall success by ensuring that individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed effectively and are aligned with team business strategies and objectives. All activities will be carried out in strict compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Centralizing and managing intake processes, onboarding logistics, new hire cycle coordination, contract administration, milestone tracking, and documentation control for Canadian Commercial Banking talent programs to ensure a seamless transition and high-quality onboarding experience for new hires and internal candidates.
- Overseeing recruitment coordination and pipeline management, supporting workforce readiness assessments to confirm employees are fully prepared for their roles and able to meet operational and regulatory requirements.
- Administering the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring accurate tracking of learning activities, compliance requirements, and timely completion of development modules.
- Developing and maintaining integrated cycle calendars and milestone plans, coordinating intakes, offers, and onboarding logistics across multiple cohorts for consistency and efficiency.
- Keeping documentation current and accurate while managing version control to maintain a single source of truth and ensure leaders can trust reporting throughout the talent cycle.
- Applying disciplined program planning and workload prioritization to manage competing demands, prevent schedule delays, and ensure timely delivery of talent initiatives, upholding standardized processes and transparent prioritization across all portfolios.
- Tracking program milestones, generate operational reporting, and surface risks proactively to support strategic workforce planning, maintain visibility, and anticipate and address potential issues early.
- Building clear and compelling decks, frameworks, and documentation to facilitate alignment, drive consistent practices, and support next-step actions across talent programs.
- Collaborating with partners and stakeholders to ensure program deliverables align with Scotiabank’s broader strategies, visions, and Core Values, while promoting collaboration, inclusion, and innovation.
- Supporting the implementation of evaluation metrics for key programs and initiatives by steering surveys, focus groups, and follow-ups with program sponsors and participants.
- Organizing events and initiatives such as mentorship forums and social engagements to foster connections among associates, support employee progression, and encourage mobility.
- Participating in weekly portfolio planning and monthly operational reviews to maintain alignment, accountability, and drive process improvements through the established operating rhythm (weekly, monthly, quarterly).
- Supporting consistent onboarding experiences and reducing ad hoc escalations, aligning activities with success measures and workforce planning objectives.
- Ensuring daily operations are conducted in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, maintaining adherence to business controls and compliance standards.

Key Requirements
- University degree in Business Administration, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Background in project management, recruitment, or adult learning is considered an asset.
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in talent attraction, talent development, people operations and logistics coordination, with a demonstrated record of high performance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for documentation, reporting, and presentations.
