Tier 1 National Supervision is a centralized team with independent oversight function delegated by the Branch Managers. We are a part of ScotiaMcLeod’s first line of defence, acting as a key resource for Branch Management and liaising with Compliance on regulatory updates while communicating these changes or new policies to the branches.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
1. Support the 5 dedicated teams within ScotiaMcLeod National Supervision in accordance with regulatory requirements and Scotiabank policies and procedures:
• Maintain an informed and consistent level of knowledge of regulatory requirements in order to reduce regulatory, reputational, or financial risk to the firm.
• Escalation to Senior Manager, or appropriate department, of all matters that may present a potential issue.
• Communicate with employees, as necessary, to explain regulatory requirements and Scotiabank’s policies and procedures.
2. Contribute to the activities relating to data analysis and reporting within National Supervision:
• Perform daily analysis and maintenance of various reports utilizing Microsoft Office applications.
• Perform research, analysis, and maintenance of client data within internal system(s).
• Execute additional responsibilities focused on Branch Support initiatives as required.
• Maintain and develop technical skills and increase ability to navigate through Excel spreadsheets and/or databases efficiently and accurately.
3. Performs duties in a professional and thorough manner:
• Ensuring daily work volumes are completed according to deadlines and that service standards are always met.
• Performing other duties as assigned to enhance National Supervision’s support capabilities and successes.
• Effectively communicate with other business partners and Branches when needed.
4. Contribute to the overall success of National Supervision:
• Ensuring an appropriate level of knowledge is maintained.
• Participating actively in team-learning development activities and team-performance achievements.

- You have experience in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, and MS PowerPoint.
