As part of the WAM Program, the Intern will have the opportunity to work with award winning investment teams for the gathering, consolidating, and interpreting of information and data, researching companies and securities, participating in the preparation and submission of written & verbal reports, and participating in company due diligence meetings.
As a member of the broader 1832 Asset Management L.P. team, the WAM Intern will also collaborate with the Equity Research and Credit Research teams.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

Analyzing financial information to determine current and future financial performance
-
Evaluating annual reports and other regulatory filings
-
Organizing the information collected into an easily accessible format and participate in writing succinct research reports
-
Collecting industry, company and economic information from a variety of sources including the Web, institutional research, corporate reports, general and industry publications, management interviews, etc. in order to draft reports and participate in making investment recommendations

Performing maintenance work on securities held within a team's funds under the direction of senior team members

Maintaining current financial models on each company

Reading all relevant available public information on individual companies

Updating team members with material information (i.e., Annual and Quarterly Reports, AIFs, Press Releases, other analyst reports)

Attending Investment team meetings and internal seminars and reporting back any relevant information

Collaborating with teams across 1832 Asset Management

Supporting the senior team members with primary and back-up Administration duties as needed
Do you have the skills and requirements that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if:

Qualified women between their 2nd and 3rd year of any undergraduate program at the University.

Skills in Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.);

Demonstrated interest in investing and skills/habits of successful investors;

Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
-
Quantitative abilities;
-
Willingness to question, pursue information and learn;

Able to work within a team environment, with the ability to collaborate well across the team;

Ability to work in a very fast paced environment;

Ability to cope with multiple tasks; and

Attention to detail and accuracy
