Purpose

This role is accountable to provide strategic oversight and integration for enterprise-wide Cloud, Data & AI transformations ensuring business strategies, operations, plans and initiatives are delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. This role reports to EVP, Chief Technology Officer and partners closely with the CTO leadership team, technology and business stakeholders. This role plays a pivotal role in driving outcomes, transparency and momentum to deliver strategic technology objectives.

 

 

Accountabilities

  • Serve as a central resource ensuring integration and alignment across the CTO portfolio.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the EVP, providing clear insights on progress, risks, dependencies, and value realization.

  • Drive active business engagement, building strong relationships with Business Partners, cross functional and internal teams to champion change and align the CTO strategy

  • Transformation Program Support
    • Work closely with the SVPs to align priorities, sequencing, and outcomes across transformation programs.
    • Ensure cross-portfolio coordination and integration of initiatives to reduce duplication, manage dependencies, and accelerate delivery.
    • Establish and maintain centralized transformation reporting, embedding meaningful metrics that track progress, adoption, benefits realization, and return on investment (ROI).

  • Business & Strategy Operations
    • Provide strategic and operational support to the CTO organization, including:
      • Portfolio planning, prioritization, and monitoring
      • KPI definition, tracking, and portfolio-level performance reporting
      • Workforce management strategy and resource tracking
      • Working closely with EDO to ensure CTO function is aligned to EDO methodologies and policies.
    • Partner with Finance to improve financial transparency, forecasting, and value tracking across modernization initiatives.
    • Support the evolution of FinOps capabilities, embedding cost transparency, optimization practices, and value identification.
    • Enable strong portfolio governance and controls, ensuring audit-readiness and compliance with regulatory and internal policy requirements.
    • Deliver clear, concise, and actionable reporting to the CTO and executive leadership.
    • Identify and implement opportunities for process automation, simplification, and continuous improvement across the portfolio.
    • Partner directly with CIO organizations and businesses to ensure alignment of strategy, priorities, and requirements, specifically related to Data, AI, and cloud.

  • Change Management, Communications & Employee Enablement
    • In partnership with EDO, drive Change Management in the CTO function to build adoption of transformational programs.
    • Accountable for delivering measurable progress in transformation culture, including engagement, mindset shifts, and new ways of working.
    • Own and coordinate all communications across the CTO portfolio, ensuring consistent messaging, executive alignment, and stakeholder awareness.
    • Build an innovative, engaging, varied communication plan to ensure the business and LOB technology teams are fully versed on the AI and Data strategy and drive excitement around the product roadmap.
    • Translate complex transformation initiatives into clear, compelling narratives for technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Partners with HR design and deliver strategic learning and enablement aligned to Cloud, Data, AI, and Engineering and Architecture capabilities.
    • Foster a modern engineering culture focused on innovation, experimentation, and driving work forward in an agile fashion.

  • Build a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment, communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.

  • Directs day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank’s risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits. Communicates the Bank’s risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout their teams.

  • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

 

 

Education / Experience / Other Information

 

  • Demonstrated experience managing strategy, process improvement and global transformations in large organizations, multiple geographies and operating models
  • Strong financial acumen and reporting capabilities
  • Executive gravitas with advanced problem solving and communication skills, highly collaborative, strong team player and influencer
  • Technology and Digital experience, with an understanding of Cloud, AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, with exposure to digital transformation
  • Ability to champion change, inspire a shared vision and promote key values driving urgency and execution.

 

 

Working Conditions

 

  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.  Moderate travel globally.
