Job Purpose

  • Provides strategic direction, leadership and oversight for strategic and financial planning, as well as transformation program management for Global Technology Services (GTS), while ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are supported in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, procedures and architecture guidelines. 


Key Accountabilities

  • Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Responsible for managing project cost and budgets for GTS global budget, ensuring that leaders have detailed information necessary to achieve financial targets, and that overall GTS targets are achieved
  • Leadership of GTS Transformation Program Office, with accountability for management of key GTS transformation program initiatives.
  • Development, deployment and ongoing refinement and communication of a global, business-relevant and transparent cost-allocation model for GTS services.
  • Coordination of input, development and communication of annual GTS strategic plan, closely aligned with IT&S and overall BNS planning efforts.
  • Develop and shepherd formal business case process, and track benefits realization for approved initiatives.
  • Primary GTS interface to global Finance community, ensuring alignment of planning and financial decision-making.
  • Ongoing coordination of GTS responses and deliverables associated with audit, compliance and regulatory findings.
  • Interface routinely with peers in financial services and other industry sectors to share best practices and gain insight into industry trends and experiences.  
  • Uses multiple strategies to attract, retain and motivate the highest caliber of technology talent, building a cohesive team with a shared vision. Provides strong leadership in setting the group's priorities, strategy and performance objectives. Motivates individual and team performance, knowledge sharing, interprets organizational direction, measures performance, and diagnoses training and development needs.
  • Directs day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank’s risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits.   Communicates the Bank’s risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout their teams.
  • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
  • Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.


Functional Competencies

Strong knowledge of operating and capital cost accounting, management and reporting, specifically in a technology service provider organization.

Knowledge and familiarity with key enterprise technologies and associated delivery challenges and costs in a complex, global organization.

Experience delivering financial management support in an IT environment with a complex mix of internally supported and outsourced services.

Strong leadership and collaboration skills.  Excellent oral and written communication, ability to present confidently to senior executives, attention to detail and strong planning and management ability.

The incumbent must be a very strong leader, with demonstrated ability to influence technical teams and build and maintain credibility with technical, business and finance stakeholders, alike. Deep knowledge of financial management principles must be combined with the ability to influence technical teams, strong business acumen and excellent listening skills.

The incumbent should have experience managing finances for one or more major, multi-year global technology transformation efforts.

The incumbent should have experience delivering excellent results in a large, complex and global environment with a mix of emerging, current and legacy technology.


Educational / Work Experience

  • University degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field, and a minimum of 10 years leadership experience providing finance support for an IT service delivery organization in a complex, global organization.  Financial services and, specifically, banking experience is highly desired
  • Experience with and knowledge of formal project and program management methodologies is expected.
  • English fluency required, Spanish ability a plus.
