The Team
The Global Derivatives Technology Team is a crucial part of the Global Technologies Applications team. This is an opportunity to work in the exciting world of Capital Markets. We are looking for a Trade Floor Support Specialist to join this dynamic team.
You will get the chance to contribute, support & deliver solutions to Scotiabank’s Derivative Trading & Sales desks across North America. The team is responsible for managing applications that offer pricing, risk, derivatives trading functionalities to the Business.
Hours and location:
The role will be required to work from office (40 Temperance Street) Monday to Friday and willing to cover in either Early (7:30am-4pm) or Late(10am-6:30pm) shift.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Provide first line of support via face to face and e-mail for issues related to trade booking, P&L, risk, IR rate/FX reset, cashflow and settlement issues raised by Front Office Trading and Sales business users.
- Be responsible and manage the resolution of issues promptly through root cause analysis with assistance from Business analyst/Developer teams.
- Provide day-to-day support to North America business teams to resolve complex business problems, including ad hoc queries and user training.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:
- Solid understanding of financial markets and products, in particular Derivative Products
- Strong SQL scripting skills.
- Familiar with Rest API’s and ability to invoke via Curl/Postman/Python.
- Strong experience with log analysis, monitoring applications, and vendor application analysis tools.
- A strong focus on client service and delivery with trading desk facing experience.
- Creative, self-starting, results oriented and a motivated individual with good analytical skills to independently resolve issues.
- Proven interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills in providing support to business users.
- Working knowledge of MarkitWire (Preferred Asset)
- FRM or CFA designation are desired
