The role:

 

The Associate, Funds Transfer Pricing contributes to the overall success of FTP – Group Treasury ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed/delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. The Associate ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. 


The Associate collaborates with Group Treasury, Capital Markets, and Treasury Finance teams to gather an understanding of the business, and align FTP methodologies with the bank's risk management and financial resource allocation strategies. This position provides great exposure to and the chance to collaborate with different areas of the Bank including Treasury functions, business lines, and product groups. 
 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will: 

 

  • Champion a customer focused culture through the team to deepen business relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Provide support for:
    • Developing and maintaining FTP methodologies, and allocation of funding for business lines.
    • Identifying and analyzing regulatory liquidity developments, funding requirements and incorporating relevant cost/benefit analysis into proposals.
    • Capital Markets product development with appropriate FTP methodology inputs.
    • Ongoing analysis of FTP implementation and future enhancements.
  • Maintain governance documents of key FTP processes.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Create an environment and pursue effective and efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?  We’d love to work with you if you have:   

 

  • MBA /University level Business/Finance degree or Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
  • 4+ years financial institution experience or relevant experience, with knowledge of the Treasury function.
  • Knowledge of the Bank's businesses and product offerings, liquidity and interest rate risk management concepts and principles.
  • Understanding of profitability and financial analysis.
  • Proficient communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly grasp new concepts in the presence of ambiguity.
  • Strong data analytics skills.
  • Knowledge and experience with Python and SQL.
