Global Corporate Functions (GCF) is the fast-moving, award-winning technology engine that powers Scotiabank’s Corporate, Investment Banking, and Capital Markets businesses.
Retail Risk Data and Modeling Team within GCF is searching for a Technical Business Analyst lead to liaison between business stakeholders and internal engineering and architect teams, ensuring solutions are developed and delivered on time, efficiently and with high quality for various projects within GCF.
The successful candidate will have a results-oriented and curious mindset with strong technical skills. You will work closely with cross functional teams, including engineers, solutions architects, and business teams to develop and implement market leading solutions that are scalable and deliver excellence, and value to our business partners and customers.
This is a 15 month contract ending in June 2027.
In this role you will:
- Lead discussions and demonstrate an informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities.
- Lead medium to large size changes/ projects.
- Support production issues and handle escalations during Release cycles as needed.
- Strong analysis and investigation skills to determine root cause for ah hoc requests and summarize findings.
- Coordinate with upstream and downstream operational teams to ensure issues and operational changes are properly communicated to stakeholders.
- Elicit, analyze, and translate high‑level business requirements into clear, structured documentation, including Technical Specifications, Design Documents, Use Cases, and Process Models.
- Participate in the development of detailed project plans, the monitoring of progress against planned objectives, the financial review, and securing consensus and co-operation from users and senior management.
- Work closely across technology teams during all stages of the system development life cycle and bridge the gap between business and technology sides of the solution.
- Liaising between the business community and the IT organization to provide technical solutions that meet user needs.
- Build relationships and communicate effectively with colleagues in Global regions.
- Augment/ produce documentation and artifacts.
- Perform ad hoc project work on various projects.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?
- Experience working across multiple teams and functions to ensure alignment.
- 3+ years practical experience in capital markets or retail credit
- Strong scripting ability to create and run queries using SQL and Python
- Exceptional analytical, problem solving and communication skills
- A self-starter to independently resolve, investigate, and analyze requests, issues, and deliverables.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new processes and standards, with a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver working results.
- A recognized undergraduate degree or diploma in business administration, computer science or related field required.
