@Bar IT Support is a dedicated team within Scotiabank’s Employee Digital Experience (EDX), focused on making
technology simple, reliable, and empowering for our employees. Our @Bar model supports a building-level
community engaged through an on-site support queue. We’re the front line for secure access to systems and
applications, end-user computing issue resolution, and request fulfillment, and we take pride in delivering a
consistently excellent IT experience through intuitive tools and hands-on, high-touch support.
We support the Bank’s employees Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (excluding statutory/banking holidays),
based at our downtown Toronto campus—working side-by-side with colleagues and technology partners to keep
the employee experience running smoothly.


Based in our central @Bar hub, you’ll be part of a team that serves as the friendly, trusted first stop for employee
technology support. You’ll diagnose and resolve endpoint issues, guide colleagues through solutions, and provide
hands-on assistance across production endpoint systems (and select development environments) to keep people
productive and connected.


Your support includes end-user technical assistance, proactive problem prevention, and software
installation/updates in an 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. production environment. You’ll also partner with other technology
teams to coordinate escalations, contribute to rollouts and up.

 

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
• You thrive on managing customer issues, resolving them directly or engaging internal resources to do so.
• Ability to be hands-on during mid to complex project deployments into production. This will include the support of
assigned systems by acting as an internal consultant on assigned infrastructure and providing suggestions for
viable solutions to systems problems of high complexity.
• You have a passion to ensure that all tasks are completed within a timely manner and all tasks are being logged
through our Service Now ticketing system.
• You are empathetic and can portray an accurate sense of urgency and professionalism when interacting with
customers.
• You enjoy sharing information and collaborate with members of the team to find innovative solutions

 


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
• You have strong communication (verbal/written) and good interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal
and external business partners and vendors.
• You have at least 5+ years of hands-on technical working experience as a Desktop Technician in a large, fast
paced, high demand corporate environment.
• You have at least 5+ years of hands-on working experience in utilizing your problem-solving & decision-making
skills to provide both technical support and customer service.
• You have at least 5+ years of hands-on technical working experience in resolving technical issues related to
Windows Operating Systems for PC’s & Macintosh iOS/macOS.
• You can demonstrate your technical working knowledge on all aspects of end-user computing, to deal with
complex technical issues, which range from PC’s, Laptops, Tablets, Networking & Printers.
• You also have working knowledge in the use and support of Office 365 (i.e., Microsoft Word/Outlook/Excel).
• You can demonstrate a good understanding of how to troubleshoot application issues.
• You have a solid track record when it comes to being very customer focused and having a good understanding of
the needs of our customers.
• You possess excellent organizational skills to manage multiple complex initiatives.
• You can work with minimum supervision and in collaboration with a large team.
• Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or in a relevant field of study.
