Contributes to the overall success of the Judicial Document Services Investigation Support Services, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
•Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
•Fulfills complex requests for information related to financial crime received from internal partners and external third parties such as law enforcement and securities commissions and supports Document Specialists in their case work and ensures that customer service provided is of the highest quality .
•Ensuring regulatory reporting requirements related to daily responsibilities are met.
•Keeps up to date on fraud-related issues, and work with external parties as required (e.g. police and other Banks) to understand the competitive landscape, keep abreast of industry developments and to protect the interests of Scotiabank and subsidiaries.
•Completes all assigned cases as outlined in unit guides and procedures and manages in the department case management systems.
•Ensures the confidentiality and privacy of information is maintained at all times as per Bank guidelines.
•Actively assists in promoting continuous improvement of business processes and procedures by providing input and assistance in updating support to Management.
•Maintain current knowledge of bank policies and regulations and comply with legal and regulatory requirements globally.
•Manage personal development to ensure knowledge and skills relative to the Document Specialist role is continually enhanced by:
- Regularly reviewing internal Scotiabank resources for updates to policies and procedures
- Utilizing me@scotiabank to complete compulsory courses to meet regulatory and Scotiabank/Tangerine requirements and to complete optional courses to enhance/develop knowledge and skills relative to the Document Specialist role.
•Effectively manage and develop human resources by:
- Ensuring that expectations which include accountabilities, objectives, goals are effectively communicated and monitored for all direct reports and that they have a process in place for their respective areas
- Ensuring that ongoing coaching is being provided to direct reports
•Knowledge of how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:
•High School education and/or minimum 3+ years of relevant work experience
•Working knowledge of Bank IT applications, systems, and security controls
•People Management experience an asset
•Proficient in Microsoft Suite
•Thorough knowledge of the Bank’s process for storage/retention of vouchers/documents
•Thorough knowledge of the Bank’s retail and small business products and services.
•Thorough knowledge of the Bank’s Privacy policies.
•Ability to gather, analyze, organize, document and present large volumes of information in a succinctand organized manner.
•Working knowledge of Canadian Retail Banking products and services.
