Job Purpose

The Supplier & Governance Manager will report to the Director, IT Supplier Management & Governance. The role is accountable for driving and leading the activities tied to the Supplier Lifecycle - from pre-qualification and onboarding, daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly supplier management and governance activities, and including supplier off-boarding. 

 

Key Accountabilities

1. The Supplier & Governance Manager will need to:

  • Develop strategic partnerships and agreements with providers of IT products and services that provide value to BNS. 
  • Manage the Supplier selection process; Master Contract negotiation; Supplier Service level management; contractual compliance and Supplier termination or renewal. These may be global/enterprise and/or country-based agreements.
  • Ensure business process interactions between BNS and the service providers are effective and efficient

 

2. Manage overall IT supplier performance including Contract, Performance, Financial, Relationship and Risk Management

  • Ensure consistent and continuously improving services for Scotiabank through the creation, monitoring and enforcement of Service Level Agreements and contractual performance objectives.
  • Accountable for managing Supplier scorecard and governance meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for IT strategic suppliers to partner with Scotiabank to accelerate and achieves Scotiabank’s strategic objectives.

 

3. Be accountable for supplier risk & performance management to ensure Scotiabank receives maximum value from 3rd-parties and manages risk.

  • Monitor and ensure compliance of the supplier agreements to Bank and Regulatory requirements.

 

4. Ensure maintain knowledge on Scotiabank’s internal processes and programs to ensure we support our customers in an efficient and effective manner. Maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders i.e., Finance, Legal, Strategic Sourcing. 

 

5. Participate as Subject Matter Expert in Sourcing engagements to deliver “fit-for-purpose” solutions for stakeholders
 
 
Skills and Education

  • The Supplier Management & Governance Manager will have knowledge in Global Supplier Management and Supply Chain, with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT Supplier & Governance Management.  The position requires knowledge of emerging technologies, excellent organization skills and a strong understanding of business drivers as they relate to IT.
  • An Undergraduate Degree or equivalent work experience with 7 years experience in strategic sourcing and/or supplier management roles.
  • Industry Accreditation i.e. SIG, Accredited Outsourcing Practitioner (CORE).
  • Spanish speaking would be an asset.
