The Team is responsible for Data sourcing, transformation, Integration, Quality and Availability. The team serves the customers of all Wealth and Asset Management business lines, including 1832 AM, Dynamic,  iTrade, Scotia Mcleod, Private Investment Council and Scotia Trust. The team is known for its fast delivery and support of many critical client facing and back-office applications.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

 

  1. Application Analysis, Design and Planning
  • Participate in requirement analysis, design and deployment of sustainable applications leveraging best practices.
  • Assist developers in clarifying specifications, as required. Review and analyse scope changes and provide input as required.
  • Assist the Dev Lead / Project Manager in providing high level estimates, timelines and schedules for projects.

  1. Application Support, Testing & Deployment
  • Participate in IST regression testing on projects, as required
  • Support business partners with testing in UAT. Maintain and track PLOGs, as needed
  • Provide Release Management support and facilitation, ensuring all releases are delivered efficiently and without defect.  Act as a liaison with other departments to create the release checklist, as required.
  • If required, provide overnight and weekend support for project implementations and releases
  • Assist in creating internal operation support manuals.  Create support strategies and assist in post implementation shakedown testing, as required.
  • Manage Jira, Kanban board and confluence site.
  • Organize, manage and Document processes in pictorial, written form for executive summary, detailed E2E process mapping.
  • Familiar with EPM, Playbook, Runbook and support documents

 

  1. Communications Management
  • Assist the Dev Lead in the creation and maintenance of SLAs with all partners, as required e.g. Infrastructure, Third Party Vendors, and business partners.
  • Maintain a good understanding of the Division's business strategies, business policies, financial instruments, risk management and back-office processing. 
  • Act as a key contact to the client communities in all aspects of support of project work

 

  1. Team Player
  • Work with already established mature team, adapt to team culture and dynamic.
  • Willing to adopt, practice agile, Kanban and scrum principles. Utilize Kanban board to manage workflow
  • Engage, inspire, and cultivate high performing team culture.
  • Collaborate with team members in-person and virtually from different regions in Canada and Columbia.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders like product owner, business lines and QA team.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

 

 

Must Have Skills: 

  • 5+ years’ IT industry experience (with Linux, Unix, Windows)
  • Hands-on experience with MS Office Suite, Jira, confluence, SharePoint and Visio.
  • Familiar with Unix and Linux platforms,
  • Experience with data sourcing, ETL and data integration concepts and tools
  • Strong Communication skills (Verbal and Written) in English
  • Excellent Analytical and presentation skills

 

Nice-To-Have Skills:

  • Exposure to wealth products
  • Wealth/financial industry exposure
  • ServiceNow, ITSM & projects delivery
  • Familiarity with Agile, Kanban methodology and Continuous Improvement mindset

 

Soft Skills:

  • Strategic influencing and articulation skills to engage various stakeholders.
  • Must be Curious, Open minded, willing to learn and question the status quo as required
  • Efficient, organized and structured

 

Degrees or certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
