The Team

The Derivatives Technology Team is a crucial part of the Global Banking and Markets Engineering (GBME) Technologies team. This is an opportunity to work in the exciting world of Derivatives/Capital markets. We are looking for Software Engineer to join this dynamic team.

 

The Role

Our team is searching for Software Engineers who are continuous learners and are eager to boost capabilities of Derivatives trading and service platforms. The role focuses mainly on backend development using C++ / Java / RESTful API.

The successful candidate will have a strong technical and engineering mindset. You will work closely with business teams and engineering leads to develop and implement market leading solutions for the various projects within the Derivatives Technology team.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Develop solutions to resolve complex, multi-faceted problems to meet the business needs, by applying financial knowledge and technology skills.
  • Develop, test and deploy new features for Dextr (Deal extract for RiskWatch).
  • Develop new components/services and integrate into PXV (in-house built) trading platform and EOD batch.
  • Collaborate with technology and business partners during design, development, testing and implementation phases.
  • Design test sets and automate where possible, including functional and non-functional testing, regression testing as well as performance testing.
  • Deliver the assigned project to specs within the projected timelines.
  • Support the solution in production (as needed)
  • Effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise application development using C++. Proficiency in Java or Python is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux environment and Shell script.
  • Good working knowledge in SQL and databases such as SQL Server.
  • Experience with Microservice architecture and REST service.
  • Proficient with SCM, Build and CI/CD tools such as Git/BitBucket, Jenkins, Maven and Make.
  • Hands-on experience with container and cloud platform would be an asset.
  • Experience with Kafka and Elasticsearch would be an asset.
  • Experience working in capital markets and more specifically derivative trading environment would be an asset.
