The Product Onboarding Team is looking for an energetic and results-oriented Software Engineer to lead the analysis, design, and implementation of a multitude of solutions to solve complex business problems for our lines of business and being a key advocate of efficiency and continual improvement as we work to modernize.
As a Software Engineer, you will be contributing to the success and overall health of systems that support the onboarding of clients/products. It will require the ability to collaborate with stakeholders through the software development lifecycle to refine/review scope and objectives for initiatives with a client focused mindset, as well as maintain and support the applications. The candidate must possess the ability to work with technology focused peers, Business Clients, and Operations Teams on multiple projects concurrently. For this role the candidate should ideally have worked on agile and waterfall projects in the past and be capable of thriving in a fast paced, challenging work environment and demonstrate initiative and eagerness to learn.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Planning and executing to meet sprint objectives as well as program/project milestones as a member of the scrum team.
• Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices
• Implements robust monitoring and observability practices to ensure application health, proactively identifies issues, and leads timely resolution of production incidents.
• Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
• Create and maintain software documentation
• Collaborate with the Scrum team to plan milestones, successfully execute software delivery, and escalate issues as needed
• Create, refine and maintain product backlog and associated deliverables, release backlog with forecasted delivery timelines
• Help improve and drive our engineering practices by providing valuable inputs and suggestions as to what works well and what can be done better
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment by information sharing and team cooperation
• Demonstrate strong personal values and a commitment to our mission and clients
• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
• Pega certification at CSA/CSSA level is required
• Professional experience with Pega Infinity 24/25 applications is essential
• 5+ years of experience in Pega Integration and UI customizations using Javascript , HTML
• 5+ years of experience in operations, or automation delivery
• Experience in system to system integrations including REST APIs, SOAP APIs, File-Connect
• Experience in Agents , Job Scheduler , Queue Processor , File listeners , Email Listeners
• Experience in Pega Digital Experience (DX) API and Blueprint GEN AI
• Experience using Pega Constellation
• Knowledge and experience in any additional Pega Frameworks, preferably Process Fabric an asset
• Experience working in an agile environment
• Reliable, proactive, results-oriented, client focused, and attentive to details
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment, and make quick and sound decisions under pressure
• Bachelors or equivalent in computer science or related field is preferred
