Digital Engineering Operations Level 3 team is a team of Software Developers and Site Reliability Engineers who are responsible to provide stability and maintain production environments. Also known as Production Support L3 team, this team proactively looks for ways to improve application monitoring, addresses production issues and investigate and assist with customer inquiries.

 

The Sr. Software Developer will be responsible to investigate and address customer inquiries received through the call centre and president’s office. After investigating reported issues, you will be providing a code fix for some. You will be using tools like Dynatrace and Splunk to review alerts and work with cloud operations, infrastructure and other downstream teams to address them. This role requires on-call rotation.

 

Is this role right for you?

  • Lead on call problem escalation and outage recovery effort, not limited to code fixes in presentation and integration layers, but also provide infrastructure level investigation and support where necessary.
  • Monitor multiple application health and discover opportunities to optimize in a continuously growing large complex hybrid environment
  • Optimizing application monitoring tool stack including fine tuning actionable alerts, process improvements, major incident procedure review and enhancements to reduce recovery time, in a distributed and semi-scalable environment
  • Map business problems to reusable end-to-end solutions, lead technical configuration, and support deployment throughout the organization.
  • Develop and help to grow deep understanding of SRE discipline and practices in the engineering community
  • 24/7 on-call rotation supporting multiple applications and occasional weekend releases.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • 5+ years of experience in Java development supporting complex large-scale customer facing platforms.
  • Proficient in J2EE to support Enterprise Applications and Services, preferability using Java 1.8.
  • Experience with service-oriented or microservice architectures.
  • Experience in building public and internal REST APIs.
  • Experience using code versioning tool like Git or Bitbucket and comfortable using Jira, Confluence, Jenkins/ACCP, Dynatrace, Splunk or similar tools.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to lead production bridges and multiple complex initiatives.
