As the Senior Technical Lead, Cloud Strategy within Scotia Digital Engineering, your primary role will be to develop and coordinate cloud strategy across Scotiabank.  This includes leading Cloud Strategy working groups and working with the Chief Architect Council and Global Technology Standards Board at Scotiabank to identify and prioritize cloud solutions, update Scotiabank’s Cloud Strategy, and evaluate progress against the strategy.  Leveraging your extensive experience and expertise in Cloud Computing and your ability to influence executives, architects, and engineers you will work with representatives from Operations, Infrastructure Engineering, Chief Information Officers, Global Engineering Heads, Information Security, and Governance to drive Scotiabank’s Cloud Strategy and execution against it.
 

 

Is this role right for you?

  • Engage with engineering and architecture teams across Scotia Digital and Scotiabank
  • Research and maintain expert knowledge on the Cloud computing, the needs of Scotiabank in relation to Cloud computing, and how other Financial Institutions and large Enterprises are adopting Cloud
  • Maintain Scotiabank Cloud Capability Strategy
  • Meet with Scotiabank’s Cloud and Technology partners and vendors to keep updated on trends and new technology
  • Lead multiple working groups that are contributing to Cloud Strategy and execution against the Strategy
  • Act as the Technology Steward for Scotiabank in the are of Cloud Computing
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of your respective area in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to risk and compliance 
  • Champion a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.

 

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • You have previous work experience in the use of Cloud computing at large enterprises to deliver business technology solutions
  • You have previous work experience in IT strategy at large enterprise
  • You are able to explain Cloud computing strategy and concepts and influence executives and senior engineers
  • It’s all in the details! You pay them close attention with an unshakeable focus on results
  • You love to help others thrive, and work best in a dynamic team-oriented environment
  • You are eager to share and learn, and realize that there’s still lots to learn
  • You are naturally enthusiastic and passionate about customer experiences, innovation and delivering software 
  • Keeping your audience top of mind, you’re skilled at communicating information and ideas at the right time and with the right medium
  • Since we have a large presence in Latin America, with Digital Factories in Peru, Colombia, Chile, and Mexico, it would be an asset if you were bilingual in Spanish
