We are seeking a Business Analyst / SME for the successful delivery of projects related to the Scotiabank FI eTrading platform


The successful candidate will work as a member of the Scotiabank BA Technology team focusing on projects. The candidate should possess strong analytical skills, be able to run with projects, have experience working in global teams.


The responsibilities will cover all areas of the development life cycle plus technical design work and support. The individual chosen will need to be driven and capable of dealing directly with the key stakeholders within our organization




  • Work closely with a global team of e-trading technology professionals, promoting high levels of service, quality and efficiency via knowledge transfer, training, industrialization and globalization of processes


  • Product Specialist for Fixed Income Bonds business including the functional specification and Documentation of new business requirements to delivery of new functionality as well as support of existing systems using industry best practices to deliver business value


  • Working with the implementation team contributing to the successful delivery of multiple projects in all phases, including
    • Technical architecture and solution designs
    • Estimates and progress tracking
    • Project reporting
    • Technical testing, including functional and regression, and creation of technical and/or business focused test cases based on business requirements and the technical design
    • Creation of technical documentation
    • Managing test results


The successful candidate will exhibit skills and competencies in the following areas:




  • Working on projects as a BA in technology
  • Developing business requirements
  • Strong technical skills
  • Strong communication skills, in particular communicating with business end users
  • Testing and implement technical solutions
  • Working with financial products and solid financial understanding
  • Partnering with developers in deploying new in-house FO systems
  • Integrating vendor products into existing FO architecture




  • Interest Rate and Government Debt Product knowledge
  • Very good knowledge of the trade lifecycle
  • Knowledge of ION Trading application suite
  • Experience developing, maintaining, deploying, and supporting Fixed Income applications

Experience working with quantitative analysts, traders and risk management


Good communication skills, transparency and attention to detail are critical to the success to this role.
