Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of the mobile wealth applications – Scotia iTrade/Scotia Wealth Management – in Canada and globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Build backend-for-frontend (BFF) APIs using Node JS
• Experienced in documenting APIs with Swagger/OpenAPI
• Familiarity with ExpressJS, Redis and any of the relational DBs like MySQL or Postgres or non-relational DBs like Mongo
• Write clean, maintainable, and well documented with minimal guidance.
• Help document software features and perform reviews with team members.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and debugging.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines 
• Contribute to design decisions and propose improvements 
• Deploy and monitor apps and services in GCP and Azure environments
• Follow guidance from senior team members and leads and provide guidance to junior team members
• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

• Experienced in backend-for-frontend (BFF) APIs using Node JS
• Experienced in documenting APIs with Swagger/OpenAPI
• Familiarity with any of the relational DBs like MySQL or Postgres or non-relational DBs like Mongo
• Experienced in deploy and monitor apps and services in GCP and Azure environments
• Familiarity with ExpressJS, Redis is a plus
