Purpose
GRTT is searching for Technical Sr Business Analyst to liaison between business stakeholders and internal engineering and architect teams, ensuring solutions are developed and delivered on time, efficiently and with high quality for various projects within Treasury Technology.
The successful candidate will have a results-oriented and curious mindset with strong technical skills. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, solutions architects, and business teams to develop and implement Canadian Banking and Capital market leading solutions that are scalable and deliver excellence, and value to our business partners and customers
Accountability
Data Infrastructure
- Create, update, and maintain Business Source‑to‑Target mappings for complex initiatives requiring strong technical understanding.
- Prepare data lineage documentation, RDARR‑related artifacts, SLA updates, and audit‑ready materials.
Data Analysis
- Profile source systems and document findings to support data quality and transformation activities.
- Review logical data models and interpret target data structures.
- Analyze data warehouse content to identify patterns and support ad hoc business inquiries.
- Conduct gap analyses between current and target states, recommending viable technology solutions.
Operational Management
- Communicate transformation rules clearly and effectively to development and QA teams to ensure accurate implementation.
Relationship Management
- Collaborate with product specialists and developers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Liaise with vendors and internal IT teams to support contract specifications and functional requests.
Production & Testing Support
- Provide production support and assist during User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring smooth end‑to‑end testing and minimal disruption.
Audit Coordination
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to support audit activities and ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:
- 3+ years’ practical experience and product business knowledge in Finance Industry.
- Minimum 3 years’ working knowledge of databases such as SQL Server, with ability to create and run queries independently.
- Experience working with all phases of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
- Proficient with Unix Tools, shell scripting (Bash, Perl, Python, etc.), SQL queries, PL/SQL, and SQL Loader - or equivalent
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver working results.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Strong knowledge of Canadian financial products, including retail, reconciliation, and Liquidity Risk Reporting (preferred).
- Working knowledge of Agile project management and risk management methodologies.
- Highly analytical, creative, and results‑oriented with the ability to independently resolve complex business problems.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively across business and technology teams.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills, capable of managing small projects and optimizing resource planning.
- Solid understanding of IT practices, Agile SDLC, system analysis and design, and database technologies.
- Hands‑on experience with SQL, Hive, and related programming languages.
- Familiarity with IBM Information Governance Catalog, Infosphere FastTrack, or similar tools (an asset).
- Adaptable and comfortable operating in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to support production issues and manage escalations during release cycles.
- Willingness to perform ad hoc tasks as needed.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to have skills)
- Understanding of enterprise banking applications and their impact on data processing environments.
- Experience managing projects within the Liquidity Treasury domain.
- A recognized undergraduate degree or diploma in business administration, computer science or related field required.
