Job Title: Sr. Project Control Officer

 

The Team 
The Regional System Support team provides technical support services to different countries where the applications managed by the team are deployed; these services are provided for both: new projects and initiatives and ongoing maintenance support, according to the country’s request. 
The team members are spread across different locations such as: Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Chile, Colombia and others; working through different time zones.
The Regional System Support is part of the International Banking Technology structure. 


The Role 
The Regional Production Control Officer is responsible for delivering and controlling technology related initiatives, programs and projects across international banking, leading large cross-functional teams to ensure these are implemented on time, within budget, and aligned with the organization’s strategic objectives.

The Regional Production Control Officer must have knowledge of the industry as well as working familiarity with project management methodologies. The position requires excellent oral and written Spanish and English skills, solid understanding of technologies, project management and life-cycle development methodologies, finance, and budget management knowledge, as well as excellent skills in relationship and general business management.



Some of the key accountabilities include:

1.    Financial and 3rd party management for large and complex technology related initiatives, programs, and projects across International Banking, ensuring these are implemented on time and within budget. This includes:
o    Providing estimates for new initiatives, including all the involved business lines as required.
o    Budget management and control for new initiatives, projects, or ongoing support. Providing monthly status and budget consumption report; identifying and communicating potential issues. 
o    Following the end-to-end invoicing payment process for different initiatives across International Banking; from the invoice reception, review, and approval to the allocation to the correct funding source; ensuring the timely payment according to the SLAs.  
o    Managing relationship with external parties, identifying new requests, issues and risks. 
    
2.    Ensures project status are accurately reported and major execution risks or issues are identified and addressed on a timely basis. This includes:
•    Timely identification of key issues and project risks, creating issue and risk mitigation plans to ensure quality delivery of assigned initiatives, programs, and projects on time and on budget.
•    Management of the delivery process, development of a consolidated project plan incorporating business lines as required, technology and operational aspects of the project, including any dependency which might have any impact. Development of the project critical path such that priorities can be set and adjusted with awareness of the potential impact on quality, cost, or timelines.
•    Sustains highly motivated groups with diverse and multifunctional reporting units, including external parties. This includes assessing and managing cultural differences that can potentially impact delivery timelines and costs.
•    Communicates ongoing status, completing monthly project status and financial status reports and escalating issues to the immediate supervisor, the Business Sponsor, IT&S Sponsor, the Head, or EVP, IT&S as required. Ensures the documentation and archiving of project activities, deliverables, tools, and finders for use in future projects.



What You Will Bring to Succeed 

Required Experience:
1.    Fully Bilingual Spanish and English oral and written skills is a must.    
2.    1 - 3 years’ experience in the financial services industry, managing projects that have significant IT and operational components.
3.    Working familiarity with project management methodologies
4.    Working familiarity with project budget control and project finance processes.
5.    Bachelor’s degree in technology an asset.
6.    PMP Designation an asset.
