A highly creative individual responsible for the effective design, development, integration, and implementation of complex Wealth Management (WM) applications. Capable of applying technological knowledge to the design of models and/or systems, formulating detailed technical designs, investigating and recommending new technologies, developing and delivering prototypes and applications using current development methodologies. Candidates must be able to work at the highest technical level of systems development while maintaining a good knowledge of WM business strategies and applications. A creative self-starter and highly motivated individual with excellent technical and analytical skills

Key Accountabilities

The incumbent is responsible for the following:

  • Translate business requirements and functional specifications into technical specifications
  • Design, develop, test and document complex software applications for our wealth management business
  • Perform object data modeling and analysis
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and training to junior developers
  • Conduct review of code developed by project team
  • Continually acquire and enhance knowledge of wealth management applications and interfaces with current banking systems
  • Participate in reviews of wealth management applications, both in-house built systems and vendor applications
  • Actively participate in the systems implementation process


The candidate must possess the following skills:

  • Proficiency in Java 2 SE, J2EE, Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) design patterns with practical experience in applying patterns to real world situations
  • Strong UNIX programming and debugging skills
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and database management systems (Oracle, Sybase and SQL Server)
  • Strong Web Service Development skills using JAX-WS and/or JAX-RPC
  • Strong knowledge of SOA, WSDL/XML Schemas and Web Service Protocols such as SOAP.
  • Hands on experience with ANT and Maven build tools
  • Experience with building enterprise batch and data integration solutions using Spring Batch 2.x or higher
  • Proven ability in designing software applications using object-oriented methodologies
  • Very good understanding of current IT practices and software development methodologies such as RUP, Scrum, and Agile


Educational Requirements

  • A recognized under-graduate degree in computer science or a related discipline, along with 7-10 years of proven IT experience is required
