Job Title: Lead Product Specialist

 

Team Background: GBM/GT Finance Technology is responsible for the delivery and support of solutions for the Global Banking & Markets and Group Treasury Finance Teams. The team enables process automation and facilitates strategic implementation of core applications supporting financial services delivery.

 

Lead Product Specialist: Finance Domain

The incumbent will be responsible for working with Senior Finance stakeholders to model accounting for new products traded within the Global Banking & Markets and Treasury domains, as well as modelling changes in accounting for existing products under both IFRS and US GAAP rule sets. The incumbent will develop strong working relationships with key individuals across regional finance teams, product control and accounting policy implementation. They will develop a deep knowledge of the current and target state finance technology stack and work with key IT stakeholders to see accounting changes through from business request to implementation.

 

Key Accountabilities Include:

  • Product and Customer Matrix Modelling for the creation of accounting events
  • Support of a globally diverse business across Europe, Asia, North America and Latin America
  • Conduct detailed risk assessments, identify pervasive risk issues and develop preventative solutions
  • Working in tandem with business and technology professionals to develop and maintain finance business need & technology roadmaps.

 

Functional Competencies Include:

  • 6+ years’ experience Product Control domain expertise
  • 4+ years exposure to capital markets and treasury products and toolsets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Emerging Influencing skills around strategy & design
  • Proven relationship management skills
  • Ability to understand and profile data for financial services
  • Proactive and responsive approach to problem solving in the finance / product control domain
  • Experience with the following Oracle based applications:
    • Oracle Financial Services Analytics Application (OFSAA)
    • Oracle Financial Accounting Hub and E-business GL Suite
  • Accounting Designation(s): CPA or CFA
