We are seeking an experienced Senior Performance Analyst to ensure the accuracy and integrity of investment performance reporting. This role requires strong performance knowledge, advanced analytical skills, and the ability to resolve complex data issues across pricing, transactions, corporate actions, cash flows, FX, market values, and operational entries. The successful candidate must also be adaptable, as responsibilities will evolve based on business needs.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Perform daily performance reconciliation and resolve discrepancies in pricing, market values, cash balances, security quantities, trades, fees, corporate actions, FX rates, and operational transactions
  • Identify and correct issues related to missing or cancelled transactions, incorrect batch codes, incorrect entry codes, misclassified entries, or incomplete data across systems
  • Investigate abnormal performance results and explain return movements by analyzing underlying data inputs
  • Validate performance results through manual calculations using TWRR and MWRR methodologies
  • Review and ensure correct account currency
  • Respond to ad-hoc performance-related inquiries from advisors, stakeholders, and service teams
  • Support month-end, year-end, and ongoing reporting, along with enhancements to reconciliation logic and workflow processes
  • Document findings, issues, and resolution steps to support transparency and operational improvements
  • Strong understanding of investment performance reporting and return validation
  • Identify performance drivers and investigate abnormal movements caused by pricing, cash flows, FX changes, trades, or operational entries
  • Explain performance variances clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Degree, diploma, or certificate in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in investment performance, fund accounting, or investment operations.
  • A strong understanding of financial instruments including equities, fixed income, pooled funds, derivatives, and corporate actions
  • Experience analyzing financial data, transaction reports, trade confirmations, and bank statements
  • Proficiency with: Host on Demand (HOD – Broadridge), Aspire, COLD, SCORE, Charles River, Reuters/Refinitiv
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivots, lookups, data validation, reconciliation)
  • VBA knowledge is an asset for automating processes and analyzing large datasets
  • High accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • The ability to work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent relationship-building and client service skills
  • Effective prioritization and decision-making capabilities
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision
  • Initiative, are adaptable, and willing to take on new responsibilities
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • The ability to adapt to new responsibilities and shifting business requirements including expanded reconciliation duties, enhanced reporting work, system upgrades, or new analytical tasks as needed
  • The ability to trace data issues across systems and reconcile mismatches effectively
  • The ability to calculate returns independently to validate system-generated performance
