The role:

 

The Senior Manager, Operations and Strategic Initiatives plays a key role within the Enterprise Delivery Office (EDO) team, driving large-scale initiatives that enhance cost efficiency, operational performance, and strategic innovation. This role requires a seasoned leader with strong financial acumen and project management skills that serves as a trusted partner to business leaders and key stakeholders across Technology and the bank, identifying and implementing opportunities for operational excellence.

 

What will you do?

 

The Senior Manager is responsible for ensuring that initiatives are strategically aligned with Technology priorities to support a culture of continuous improvement delivering measurable impact.

You will drive strategic initiatives within EDO, supporting the VP, Portfolio Management with the following.

 

Financial Oversight

  • Lead financial planning, forecasting, budget tracking, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations for the EDO.
  • Develop and report on cost baselines, funding requests, financial risks, and key performance indicators related to headcount, budget, and costs.
  • Deliver actionable financial insights and support spend management control in partnership with cross-functional teams.

 

Operational Excellence

  • Support technology priorities and operating model transformation by driving structured execution, efficiency, and harmonization.
  • Design and implement operational processes to enhance reporting cycles, data integrity, and maintain automated reporting tools and databases.
  • Monitor resource utilization, identifying opportunities for optimization across teams.
  • Assist with change management and provide ad-hoc support for time-sensitive projects and emerging operational challenges.

 

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Facilitate financial and operational review meetings, document decisions and follow-ups.
  • Foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate across departments to develop frameworks, processes, and governance structures.

 

What do you need to succeed?

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Engineering, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred)
  • 5+ years of accounting-related experience and advanced analytical skills
  • 5+ years of experience in project or program management, with a strong focus on financial oversight.
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems, identify business drivers, and manage multiple priorities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Executive level communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated leadership in high-volume of tasks, maintaining composure under pressure and ensuring timely delivery of results.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Power BI, Copilot)
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel (e.g. Pivot tables, complex formulas like FILTER/LET/XLOOKUP, VBA/Macros, Power Query)
  • Ability to work off hours as required for month end, quarter end and year end activities

 

Nice to Have:

  • 2-4 years of experience in a Project Management Office (PMO)
  • PMP Certification
  • Agile experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with project management software (e.g., CAPPM)
  • Proficient in Python scripting (Pandas for data cleaning / analysis)
  • Familiarity with project management software (e.g., CAPPM)
