The Senior Manager, Risk Technology is a key execution leader within Global Risk Management (GRM), accountable for driving the modernization of Scotiabank’s Retail and Small Business credit decisioning ecosystem. This role oversees the delivery of cross-regional implementations of critical adjudication, collections and customer management platforms, ensuring that the Bank’s credit decisioning capabilities are scalable, resilient, and fully aligned with the bank’s long term technology transformation objectives. The position requires deep cross functional collaboration with credit policy, data strategy, engineering, and Canadian and International Banking partners to translate business needs into robust, high quality credit risk technology solutions.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Oversee end to end management of Scotiabank’s Credit Risk decisioning platforms.
- Lead regional and country deployments ensuring platform consistency and alignment with global standards.
- Champion API driven adjudication and integration modernization, expanding adoption of standardized interfaces and reducing legacy dependencies.
- Translate credit policies, risk strategies, and business rules into actionable requirements for decisioning tools.
- Partner with colleagues across Global Risk Management, Retail/Small Business, Fraud, Canada and International Banking teams to ensure system outputs accurately reflect credit rules, regulatory requirements, and local market nuances.
- Participate in evaluation and proof of concept activities related to the modernization of Collections and Account management platforms
- Drive adoption of cloud based decisioning components (e.g., GCP hosted adjudication workflows, batch and real time scoring).
- Partner closely with Data Strategy to embed data products, attributes, governance improvements, and bureau integrations into credit decisioning logic.
- Lead the end to end development of business cases for major Risk Technology initiatives—including platform modernization, regional deployments, and vendor tool evaluations—ensuring alignment with GRM strategy, regulatory priorities, and enterprise architecture expectations.
- Lead readiness and compliance activities across cyber, privacy, third party risk, and internal control frameworks.
- Oversee incident management and platform stability across regions, ensuring consistent SLAs and clear escalation paths.
- Provide senior level updates to Steering Committees, Risk Tech leadership, and regional partners.
- Identify, promote, and lead opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of procedures, including streamlining, automating, and standardization.
- Provide guidance, support, and coaching to team members.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Business, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in data product management or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of credit risk lifecycle (originations, account management, collections, fraud) and strong understanding of the role technology plays to support our clients.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to understand complex technical concepts and communicate them to a non-technical audience.
- Experience working in agile software development methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban)
- Experience working with development teams and systems integrators to deliver successful solutions
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
- Professional experience with modern ML tooling (Scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Spark ML, etc.) is an asset
- Possess a strong understanding of data management principles, product ownership best practices, and the Canadian financial services landscape
- Proven ability to lead multi year cross regional roadmaps and modernization programs.
- Experience with risk assessments, compliance reviews, and documentation-heavy requirements.
