Located in the heart of Toronto’s financial district, Global Wealth Management Systems enables total wealth strategy for the Bank by delivering client focused technologies.

Reporting to the Director Application Development - Wealth Management, the Senior Manager Development (Senior Manager) will be responsible for overseeing value creation of multiple agile teams with a focus on successful technology delivery. The Senior Manager will ensure business strategies, plans and initiatives are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.  The Senior Manager works closely and coordinates with various technology groups to support and deliver solutions in alignment with business and technology strategies.

Note: this role will specifically focus on Wealth Data Governance and Technical Product Ownership of the Wealth Data Lake.


  • Data Governance and Management – works with the Enterprise Data Office to standardize data management practices within Wealth Technology, in keeping with enterprise standards
  • Technical product ownership of the Wealth EDL; creates vision, prioritizes backlog and manages stakeholders
  • Leads and drives a client focused culture throughout their IT professionals (full-time and contractors) to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Manages systems analysis, development, implementation, and support of innovative solutions using existing and new technology for the Bank.
  • Ensures the timely development and implementation of multiple applications and IT solutions – involving multiple systems, multiple dependencies and multiple stakeholders/business partners – where solutions cross business lines and customer segments.
  • Creates an environment in which the team pursues effective and efficient operations of the respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls.
  • Builds a high performance Agile environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment.
  • Meet obligations with respect to operational risk regulatory compliance, Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorism Financing (AML/ATF) risk including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines of Business Conduct.
  • Communicate vision/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.


  • Must have 8-10 years of progressive working experience in information technology, and ideally in the banking or wealth management industry.
  • Must have at least 4 years of working experience in the management of direct or indirect technology resources; or at least 5+ years of working experience in leading both technical projects and resources.
  • Must possess strong technical knowledge of data modeling, data analysis and system integration.
  • Knowledge and experience with Hadoop and Enterprise Data Lake technologies would be a strong asset
  • Requires advanced understanding of complex, leading edge database technologies and how these can be used to support business processes.
  • Deep understanding of systems knowledge (existing systems and new technologies).
  • Process knowledge in relation to scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, risk management/systems, design/change management and release management.
  • Project Management (throughout the project life cycle).
  • Proven IT experience with deep expertise in both the strategy and business needs of banking as well as technology



  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field.
  • Agile certification / project management certification is an asset.
