What you’ll be doing…

The incumbent will report to the Global Head, Global Sanctions & Screening (GSS) and will support the payment investigations and KYC advisory functions. Additionally, the incumbent will contribute to the overall success of the team by ensuring ad hoc initiatives are executed and delivered.


Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Act as a Level 3 reviewer in decisioning payments that alert for sanctions concerns.
  • Research alerts generated by the Bank’s internal detective controls.
  • Distribute and document bank-wide advisories.
  • Draft monthly quantitative and qualitative updates for senior management regarding the Global OFAC Advisory’s activity.
  • Continue to identify and develop opportunities to enhance operations for the Global OFAC Advisory Team to make the most effective and efficient.
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with business lines, local sanctions officers and other key groups, and act as the primary point of contact between business lines and other stakeholders related to sanctions regulatory requirements, questions, concerns, or feedback.
  • Manage and proactively identify improvements or necessary modifications to Global OFAC Advisory related policies and procedures, and effectuate such changes.
  • Work closely with the Senior Manager, OFAC Advisory to identify opportunities for additional efficiencies in payment screening, including more tailored list application, etc.
  • Respond to List Management for all new keyword additions (“New sanctions keywords”) for GBM jurisdictions.
  • Assist with regulatory exams and internal audits, as needed.
  • Perform other ad hoc requests, as needed.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of sanctions advisory or sanctions investigation experience.
  • Minimum B.A. in criminal justice, business, finance, law, international affairs or related major.
  • Thorough knowledge of international sanctions risk management standards and industry best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capable of working independently and solving problems under high level guidance.
  • Demonstrated integrity when working with colleagues and leading others by setting example of required behaviours.
  • Can think “outside of the box” and make process improvement recommendations.
  • Adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment and be able to meet strict deliverable deadlines.
  • Proven experience identifying and implementing process enhancements as well as the experience to oversee the resolution of process deficiencies and drive operational efficiency without compromising compliance requirements.
  • Results oriented, highly motivated with a keen ability to influence others.
  • Skilled proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other related productivity tools.
