Applies advanced analytics in support of IFRS 9 modelling and reporting. Ensures specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.



  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Designs and develops an analytics platform that supports IFRS 9 modelling and reporting. The platform provides functionality which can be reused for many tasks including review of model inputs and outputs, calculating ECL sensitivity to model inputs, and explaining changes in ECL in terms of monthly or quarterly model and portfolio changes.
  • Executes monthly and quarterly processes and is accountable for the timely analyses of quarterly results, model impacts, and macroeconomic sensitivities. Produces ad hoc analyses as required.
  • Supports stress testing teams who will use the IFRS 9 models and analytics tools for Enterprise-Wide Stress Testing and other ad hoc stress tests.
  • Documents all processes developed and works with model validation and audit teams to ensure timely and satisfactory validation or review as applicable.
  • Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.



  • Enterprise Stress Testing collaborates with numerous teams across the bank in areas including risk analytics, modelling, domestic and international business, accounting and provisioning
  • The team supports the Bank’s IFRS 9 and EWST processes in Canada and our subsidiaries’ processes in Latin America, Europe, and Asia
  • The team works with financial dimensions including probability of default, loss given default, exposure at default, expected credit loss, regulatory capital, and provisions for credit losses
  • The team uses a variety of technology on Windows and Linux systems
  • The team must satisfy requirements of model validation, internal and external audit, and financial regulators


Education / Experience / Other Information

  • 3+ years of experience in financial services developing models and analytic tools for IFRS 9, AIRB, or similar is required
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with stakeholders across a wide variety of functions is required. The ability to clearly summarize and present data is required
  • Programming and data science skills gained through advanced training or relevant work experience is required. Training in statistics and machine learning is an asset
  • Experience with Python or R is required. Experience with Scala is an asset
  • The candidate must demonstrate the ability to quickly grasp and embrace new concepts and technologies
  • Experience with Linux or UNIX systems and version control software such as Git is required


Working Conditions

  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
  • The position requires the ability to meet deadlines and balance competing priorities.
