The Team

The AML Data Development Team is responsible for analysis, design, development and ongoing support for services that collect, transform, stage and save the data required to perform key any money laundering functions including transaction monitoring, name screening and customer risk oversight and the associated investigation and reporting. The Data Development Team works with source business and system SME’s, Data Scientists and AML monitoring business and systems SME’s to ensure that the data from the sources is available for the AML monitoring and reporting functions on a timely, accurate and complete basis.

 

The Role

Reporting to the Director Development, AML and Compliance Technology, the Senior Manager Development will be responsible for managing a team of IT professionals to provide technology guidance, project delivery and transition to support. The individual must thrive on challenge, be proactive and dynamic, and demonstrate initiative and eagerness to learn.  The Senior Manager will be required to collaborate with internal business partners, software vendors, project and resources managers, business analysts, developers, release managers and architects to drive the delivery of projects.

 

Some of the key accountabilities include:

  • Ensure the development team is working effectively and meeting delivery commitments.
  • Ensure proper support procedures and processes are in place to support the various existing production systems.
  • Champion the implementation of new tools to improve the effectiveness of the team.
  • Manage the department including recruitment, retention and staff performance.
  • Manage communication with all area of the enterprise that impact scope, schedule, budget, risk & resources
  • Build strong working relationship with peers within business lines and partner
  • Participate in and occasionally lead the delivery of project management artefacts including business cases, schedules, estimates, status reporting and RAID management and resolution.
  • Manage and negotiate requirements such as scope, schedule, cost, resources, integration, change, quality, etc…
  • Create and maintain resource and budget forecasts covering all staff and consultants assigned to projects and support.
  • Keep abreast of current and emerging best practices and technologies and developing implementation plans to integrate these practices within the organization.

 

What You Will Bring to Succeed

The following are must:

  • Proven interpersonal, communication, negotiation, mentoring and leadership skills in order to build consensus, obtain cooperation and facilitate delivery from business users, development and senior management
  • Must be a creative, self-starting, results oriented and highly motivated individual with very good analytical skills in order to apply this knowledge to independently resolve complex business problems
  • A very good understanding of current IT practices, systems development techniques, including automated testing and deployment methodologies
  • Must be flexible to adapt to a dynamic environment, make quick and sound decisions under pressure.
  • Must be reliable, pro-active, results-oriented, customer-focused and attentive to details.   

 

The following are an asset:

  • Experience with anti-money laundering business practices, systems and data
  • Data Governance experience including the theory, processes and deliverables.
  • Experience with or leadership exposure to the SDLC for data projects including profiling, analysis, mapping, modeling, ETL development and testing.
  • Experience with onshore and offshore models
