The Role

As a Senior Manager and Project Manager within the Derivative & FX Services team, you will lead strategic initiatives that drive transformation and operational excellence across Derivatives, FX, Money Market, Exchange-Traded Derivatives Operations, and Regulatory Trade Reporting. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of our business by aligning project outcomes with strategic priorities, technology roadmaps, and regulatory requirements while supporting growth objectives.

 

You will manage projects using Agile methodologies, strengthen our control framework, and ensure robust governance across all initiatives. Your expertise in project management will help identify and implement process improvements, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and maintain compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank
  • relationships, systems and knowledge. This will entail engagement with front office, technology, other operational teams, and external partners.
  • Execution of Derivative & FX Services Strategy as it relates to a Control Environment. Champion a high-performance environment. 
  • Champions a culture of continuous operational improvement by independently resolving highly complex, multi-faceted problems to meet the business needs across the department with a specific focus on creating tangible / measurable operational efficiencies. This involves opportunity identification, preparing proposals, defining business requirements and processes, developing, testing, conversion and implementation strategies, developing detailed project plans, monitoring progress against planned objectives, and securing consensus and co-operations from users and senior management.
  • Lead the development of project scope statements, ensuring all goals, deliverables and requirements are defined and documented. Oversee a portfolio of projects and programs, including delivery schedules, budgeting and delivered within quality standards
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

 

Capital Markets Expertise:

  • Hands-on experience in Derivatives, FX, Futures, and/or Exchange-Traded Derivatives operations.
  • Understanding of trade lifecycle, clearing, settlement, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Familiarity with market infrastructure, risk management practices, and operational controls in a banking or financial services environment.

Project Management Leadership:

  • Proven ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder projects from initiation through delivery.
  • Experience managing portfolios of projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and quality assurance.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and ability to apply them effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Certifications such as PMP, Agile/Scrum, or equivalent are highly valued.

Process Improvement & Analytical Skills:

  • Expertise in process mapping, workflow analysis, and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Ability to identify gaps, propose solutions, and implement changes that deliver measurable results.
  • Comfort with data-driven decision-making, including the use of metrics and KPIs to track progress.

Regulatory & Risk Management Knowledge:

  • Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks impacting derivatives and FX (e.g., trade reporting obligations, AML/ATF requirements).
  • Experience ensuring compliance with operational risk and conduct risk frameworks.
  • Ability to embed strong governance and control practices into project delivery.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:

    • Skilled at building relationships with senior leaders, technology teams, and cross-functional partners.
    • Ability to influence and gain consensus across diverse stakeholder groups.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing proposals, reports, and presentations.
