Purpose 

As a member of the Enterprise Portfolio Management & Strategy Execution team, the Senior Manager, Change Management leads the design, development and delivery of change management strategies, plans, processes, tools and activities for Strategic Planning and related project portfolio management initiatives. The incumbent will work with other members of the Enterprise Portfolio Management & Strategy Execution team and key partners (e.g. DPMOs, PPM, PD&S etc.) to drive change and desired adoption resulting from changes made to policies, processes, systems/technology and roles and responsibilities. This is a highly dynamic environment and the incumbent is expected to integrate multiple, multi-functional projects while quickly adapting to evolving business priorities and achieving project/program objectives. 

 

Key Accountabilities
•    Lead the development and execution of end-to-end enterprise-wide change management activities for small to large scale initiatives 
•    Lead the diagnostic, design, development, and implementation of required changes (e.g., policies, standards, processes, systems) by working with both internal and cross-functional teams  
•    Build and manage internal relationships with teams and individuals from various business lines/corporate functions of the Bank, liaising with partners to drive initiatives forward through strategic influencing, assessing impact from planned changes (e.g., deep dive sessions with stakeholders/SMEs) and coordinating targeted, business as usual or ad hoc change activities  
•    Lead the development and facilitation of training, communication and applicable business aspects (e.g. reporting and measurement) as it relates to change adoption. 
•    Manage and resolve risks and issues throughout the project, while developing and delivering the change sustainment plan to ensure a smooth transition to steady state once the project is completed
•    Support related operations and department goals (e.g., SIP support; reporting activities; process mapping; requirements writing) and ad hoc assignments as assigned
•    Lead the management of program mailboxes and team web portals such as Scotiabank Live and Workplace pages, as needed
•    Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
•    Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

1. Experience and Education
•    Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, Communications, Education or relevant field
•    A change management certification or designation is desired
•    Minimum 3-5 years of change management, Finance, project/portfolio management, or relevant experience, preferably in partnership or matrix organization where multiple complex groupings of stakeholders must be managed simultaneously
•    Previous FI / Consulting experience preferred
•    Background in, or understanding of learning methods, training needs assessment and training design is advantageous

2. Implementation of Change Initiatives:

•    Work experience in leading change in large organization is highly desired
•    Comprehensive knowledge of change management principles and practices
•    Proven experience of change management work stream from initial vision setting to post implementation change sustainability 
•    Excellent ability to evaluate options/alternatives and develop solutions/recommendations for solutions to complex and multi-dimensional problems/issues
•    Ability to develop and deliver executive level presentations that bring together strategy and high level concepts in a form that is easily understood by all stakeholders 
•    Ability to motivate and encourage project team members and change agents through coaching and confidence building
•    Ability to operate in ambiguous environments and develop a structure for successful execution 

3. Interpersonal Skills:

•    Excellent listening, oral and written communication skills
•    Strong presentation, facilitation, coaching, and project management skills to support change processes
•    Ability to see situations and issues from multiple points of view
•    Collaborative decision-making skills and the ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders

4. Organizational Awareness:

•    Good understanding and awareness of strategic and tactical business planning and executional issues/processes
•    Strong understanding of business processes and the Bank’s overall organizational structure
In-depth understanding of the interactions within groups to create buy-in for specific agendas
•    Ability to build consensus and negotiate the needs of diverse groups 
•    Ability to interact effectively with the target audience to obtain buy-in on difficult issues 
•    Proactive approach to managing sponsor and stakeholders’ expectations
