The Senior Manager Business Analysis is a senior contributor with expertise in specific business processes. This role will interface with all levels of the business to understand current business processes and challenge them by identifying alternatives to the business on process re-engineering.

 

The incumbent will work to continually acquire and enhance knowledge of the Division's business strategies and policies, risk management practices and methodologies, product offerings, financial markets, financial instruments, regulatory requirements, Back Office processes, and rapidly changing technology to be able to provide effective business solutions and services to the end user business lines.

 

The Senior Manager Business Analysis will work with IT clients to gather requirements, map business process and facilitate business and IT collaborations. The incumbent will possess full technical knowledge on all phases of systems analysis, while considering the business implications of the application to the current and future business environment. Will also be able to create detailed specifications from which design will be developed and/or programs will be written.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

  • Understands the business from several points of view and aligns IT&S systems and processes to address critical information and automation requirements.

  • Responsible for the successful implementation of specific business line solutions for projects, supporting highly complex business applications with complex integration needs across multiple technology disciplines.

  • Independently resolves highly complex, multi-faceted problems to meet business needs by applying advanced financial and technical knowledge to the design of methodologies, models and/or system solutions. 

  • Participates in all phases of the IT System Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Acts as a liaison between developers and business team members. Provides timely project status updates to the Project Manager; identifying/reporting project risks as early as possible and proactively mitigating project risks as identified. Provides expert knowledge of cross-functional and business processes. Requires little management direction and handles extremely complex problems.

  • Collaborates as the business lead with multiple technology groups and vendors to ensure that the application, integrations, infrastructure and security architectures are designed to meet evolving business requirements, meet standards for reliability, scalability, performance and availability and align with Scotia IT&S Technology roadmap.

  • Responsibilities may include effectively recruiting, managing and supervising business analysis/systems specialist staff by setting performance expectations, monitoring performance, providing performance feedback including the preparation of performance appraisals, and as needed, providing counsel and coaching.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
 

  • The incumbent must hold a relevant and recognized degree and/or proven IT experience with an emphasis on highly complex systems/business initiatives.  CBAP designation preferred. 

  • The incumbent must have 10 to 15 years of IT and business industry work experience, which includes at least 3 years of experience in managing teams or projects. Typically requires advanced technical and business knowledge in multiple disciplines, technologies, and processes.

  • The incumbent must have expertise in very complex business and technical processes and their implications across the enterprise.

  • The incumbent must have expertise in project management disciplines/protocols.

  • Thorough knowledge of Bank processes. 

  • Thorough knowledge of Bank’s major/key business units.

  • Working knowledge of Bank accounting and budgetary process.
