The Team: 


The Equities team supports Scotiabank’s Global Derivatives business by providing functional and technical expertise to modernize and transform the “Equity Derivatives and Notes” technology footprint with full-stack, Public-cloud hosted platform to increase revenue growths across NA, UK and LATAM. We are looking for a Senior Manager -  Business Analysis to join our growing team in Toronto.
 

The Role:

 

As a Senior Manager - Business Analysis, will own the equity derivatives product domain, liaise with Front-office users, Quants and technology teams in regular cadence, drive business requirements and planning, continuously iterate and explore business objectives and solutioning.  Ensures system, process, operation controls are in compliance with bank standard policies. Ensures the domain knowledge of structured product are retained, proliferated, and coached. 


Responsibilities

 

  • This is a senior level technology position with overall objective of leading and executing product scoping and development for equity derivatives and structured notes Businesses in US, Canada, UK and LATAM.
  • Work closely with stakeholders within all business functions to assess the current and future states, perform gap analyses, derive business requirements, and design solutions that meets business and regulatory needs.
  • Identify risks and impacts, work with users and technology teams to propose risk mitigation options, considering business implications, operational, regulatory risks and timelines requirements.
  • Leads and works with other business analyst, quants, quality controls and support teams to ensure product feature rollouts are communicated, coordinated and tracked and published.
  • Responsibilities may include managing, decommissioning, and scoping features for in-house built trading systems, vendor platforms, and legacy (Icarus, K2) derivatives systems.
  • Manages production issues, works with vendors and technology teams, diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Lead and drive a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviors; communicating vison/values/business strategy; managing succession and development planning for the team

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Experience working in Investment banking technology ideally with equity derivatives tech, and deep understanding of financial products like equity Options, Callable, and market linked equity notes. 
  • 5 to 8 years of experience working with sales, trading, and quants developing business cases for NA markets.
  • 8 to 12 years of experience driving and developing product features, documentation and delivery schedules.
  • 5+ years in Agile/Scrum, creating sprints, issue backlogs, dashboards, and conducting daily-standups.
  • Experience working with enterprise technology, architects, cloud vendors, and release management teams.
  • Familiarity with bank product and services, front to back office operational environment, modern software architectures, software management, SDLC and development techniques.
  • Masters OR bachelor’s degree/diploma in information technology/systems, business administration, computer science OR relevant work experience required
