We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented professional to join the GRM Vendor Strategy Office as Senior
Manager, Vendor Strategy Management. This role is pivotal in managing vendor-related financial processes, including budget planning and controls, invoice administration, expense management and financial reporting. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial tracking, compliance, and strategic alignment across programs.
You will act as a trusted advisor and influencer, fostering strong partnerships with stakeholders in GRM, Technology, Finance, and Business Lines. This position requires strategic thinking, well organized, exceptional analytical and communication skills, commitment to operational excellence, and alignment to our ScotiaBond values.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will be driving:
- Lead the development and execution of annual and quarterly forecasting for vendor-related programs.
- Partner with leadership and business units to validate assumptions, assess financial impacts, and align budgets with strategic priorities.
- Prepare and submit budget updates for review and approval.
- Work closely with Finance to maintain and update quarterly budgets, ensuring accurate projections for upcoming periods.
- Oversee end-to-end invoice management, from receipt to payment verification.
- Review invoices against budgeted amounts and ensure proper coding in financial systems.
- Process payments using enterprise tools and maintain accurate transaction records.
- Monitor and reconcile vendor invoices, chargebacks, and service fees against contractual agreements.
- Ensure timely processing of payments and proper expense classification, including amortization and accrualsand adherence to contractual terms.
- Monitor and update internal tracking systems for payment status and financial accuracy.
- Lead the annual cost allocation process using internal tools and methodologies.
- Collaborate with financial reporting teams to develop, calculate and distribute costs across business lines based on usage and growth metrics.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and accurate reporting.
- Develop and maintain financial reports and presentations for senior leadership.
- Analyze and investigate variances between forecasts and actuals, providing clear explanations and recommendations.
- Support strategic decision-making through accurate and timely financial insights.
- Utilize enterprise systems (ERP, SharePoint, PowerBI) for financial tracking and reporting.
- Maintain internal documentation and respond to inquiries from finance teams.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
- 5 years of proven experience in financial operations, budget management, and accounting principles.
- Experience in vendor financial management within a large organization; financial services experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and analysis.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle) and payment processing tools.
- Experience with SharePoint and PowerBI for reporting and collaboration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
