Treasury Risk Management (TRM) provides independent risk oversight of the Bank’s liquidity and funding and structural balance sheet risks, in addition to transfer pricing and hedging and investing strategies executed by Group Treasury and international treasury units.
The Senior Manager, Treasury Risk, is responsible for supporting independent risk oversight within Treasury Risk Management (TRM) across related risk categories. This role involves establishing and maintaining processes to aid in TRM risk governance and oversight responsibilities. Key duties include managing the agenda for the Treasury Risk Committee (TRC) and coordinating communications with the Risk Management Committee (RMC) and the Board. Additionally, the Senior Manager will manage stakeholder relationships within TRM and with related groups such as Group Treasury, GRM Compliance, and Internal Audit. They will assist the Director by providing high-quality insights into the Bank’s Liquidity, SIRR, and FX risk profiles to senior management and the Board of Directors, as appropriate.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Coordinate Treasury Risk Committee Agenda: Assist in the preparation and coordination of the monthly Treasury Risk Committee meetings
- Facilitate RMC and Board communications: Support the Director in managing regular Board communications, ensuring timely and accurate information delivery.
- Maintain TRM Governance library: Maintain the TRM Governance library, including policies, frameworks and limit documents.
- Track GRM findings: Collaborate with the TRM team to develop and track GRM findings for the first line of defense.
- Oversee earnings volatility risk measurement: Assist in establishing and maintaining 2nd Line oversight of Other Segment earnings volatility risk measurement.
- Provide subject matter expertise: Function as a subject matter expert within Global Risk Management for specific elements of Treasury Risk Management.
- Advise international subsidiaries: Provide advice and counsel to international subsidiaries on Treasury RAF documents.
- Regulatory Environment Monitoring: Assist the Director in monitoring regulatory developments and collaborate with, TRC risk functions, GT and GRM Compliance to assess and address potential changes
- Identify emerging risks: Assist in identifying emerging risks and understanding linkages between different risk areas.
- Compliance Support: Support TRC regulatory compliance process, including maintaining Regulatory Library and coordinating regulatory compliance activities
- Audit Support: Support TRC audits by coordinating audit response, including providing information, as required and the tracking and resolution of findings.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
- An advanced University degree in Finance or related discipline is required.
- CFA and/or FRM preferred.
- At least 2-4 years' experience in Treasury, Trading Risk, ALM and/or Structural FX risk.
- Excellent knowledge of financial/capital markets and products and excellent understanding of treasury products, investments, and hedging strategies.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Solid data analytics and visualization skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong relationship building skills
- Strong ability to devise and implement operational frameworks, processes, controls and documentation approaches for a team comprising highly specialized technical skills.
