Scotiabank’s Global Technology Solutions (GTS), Solutions Integration & Delivery (SI&D) organization is rooted in understanding our Scotiabank business lines and technologies and collaborating with our global CIOs and business lines to deliver high quality, reliable enterprise solutions in an agile and cost-effective manner while complying to the bank’s security standards and policies.

Our team is responsible for the daily telephony & voice data trade floor support, including voice/call recording, preservation and surveillance. Trade floor sites include Toronto, Calgary, Montreal and may include the U.S., Latin America (LATAM) & Asia Pacific (APAC) for support & global project initiatives. We are responsible for support and deploying new telephony and recording technologies for trade floors while following best practices and coordinating with the Bank’s technology teams with the aim of providing high resiliency. Additionally, we ensure the health of our voice platforms and infrastructure.

The role:

You will provide thought leadership to a team of high-performance Voice/IT professionals as well as subject matter expertise for all activities related to Trader Data and Voice technologies. You will have a global accountability of voice recording technology within GTS for all business partners working in collaboration with HR, Compliance, Legal and other IT Groups.

When required, there might be travel within & outside of the Greater Toronto Area. You are fine with working off-hours to support your staff & assist with problem resolution or ensuring the systems are operational.

  • You will support the bank in terms of legal and regulatory compliance requests and follow protocol and procedures.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • You have strong communication (verbal/written/presentation) skills in English & the same in Spanish is an asset. Furthermore, you have good interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal and external business/technical partners and vendors.
  • You have at least 8+ years of hands-on working experience in a people management capacity within Information Technology and data archive/surveillance.
  • You have at least 6+ years of progressive technical hands-on working experience with enterprise information archiving and/or surveillance technology.
  • Experience with industry recognized solutions (Global Relay Archive, MS Exchange, Bloomberg Vault, PageFreezer, Proofpoint)
  • You can demonstrate knowledge of compliance policies + trading practices and workflows, relative to the trading industry.
  • You can demonstrate technical knowledge and/or experience in the development & assistance in the Deployment / Testing of Data Archive and Surveillance systems, and then, the assurance of capture completeness.
  • You possess superior problem solving and decision-making skills to resolve work issues while under pressure in a dynamic environment.
  • You have a post-secondary education in Computer Science; Engineering; Data/Voice technologies or in a related field.
  • ITIL v3 or v4 Foundation certification(s) and/or other similar industry best practices (COBIT/LEAN, etc…) is an asset.
