Purpose
The Senior Manager contributes to the overall success of the IB Business Risk Management in ensuring goals, plans, initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the unit business strategies and objectives, focusing mainly on the Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) and New Initiative Risk Assessment (NIRA) programs. Ensures best practices are used and lessons learned are leveraged across IB jurisdictions to address any potential issues. 

What You'll Do:

  • The Sr. Manager is responsible for managing the Third-Party Risk Management and New Initiative Risk Assessment programs for International Banking
  • Provides TPRM and NIRA support to in-country business units and lines of business. It also requires the coordination of regulatory exams as well as monitoring the implementation of action plans to address issues and strengthen control processes
  • Implement and enhance the IB TPRM and NIRA programs, including documentation, processes, risk assessments, reporting and escalation
  • Provide expert oversight and direction to IB stakeholders in matters related to TPRM and NIRA, leveraging Global and Enterprise Third Party Risk Management policies and framework, as well as NIRA Methodology & Procedures
  • Provide timely reporting on significant TPRM and NIRA issues to senior management
  • Provides subject matter expertise to International Banking Business Lines in establishing appropriate Third-Party Risk Management New Initiative Risk Assessment controls
  • Collaborates with IB country TPRM and NIRA teams, coordinating and providing oversight to TPRM and NIRA issues and business risk management review remediation efforts as required; ensuring operational deficiencies are addressed and operational soundness is maintained
  • Proactive follow-up to ensure that commitments made are delivered on
  • Facilitates the sharing of TPRM and NIRA review recommendations and Best Practices to ensure consistent application of key internal controls, which contribute to sustained improvement of risk key performance indicators across International Banking
  • Supports the implementation and delivery of TPRM and NIRA metrics and indicators to ensure adherence to risk appetite, including reporting at the country level
  • Provides training and oversight of the TPRM and NIRA programs to IB country teams, including liaising with strategic sourcing resources providing program support
  • Develops and manage a plan for addressing outstanding issues and gaps in TPRM and NIRA, and create process, documentation and revise as required by policy or as circumstances change
  • Develops standards for IB in alignment with Enterprise policies and ensuring that framework elements are implemented in the countries
  • Performs ad-hoc analyses and reporting in support of business needs or to support compliance with country regulatory requirements under the Director oversight
  • Develops and design a dashboard for the TPRM and NIRA, identifying key metrics, working with multiple stakeholders to understand business needs and information gaps throughout the division
  • Provides support for new programs and initiatives that may be assigned to the team from time to time

 

What You'll Bring:

  • University degree in a business-related field. Master degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of risk management work experience
  • Possess strong communication (verbal and written), listening and presentation skills.
  • The incumbent must be a strong leader with excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills to build consensus and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Ability to suggest appropriate recommendations to senior/executive management and effectively support those recommendations by applying critical thinking skills and decision making.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, including ability to work well under pressure and constantly adjust priorities for self and the team.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English is required.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
