The mission of the Fraud Management Group is to protect our Bank, customers and shareholders from fraud and mitigate losses through the proactive development and collaborative execution of an effective diligent Fraud Management plan.  

 

The Senior Manager Fraud Analytics Initiatives leads and oversees Fraud Analytics Initiatives supporting Canadian Banking ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed to achieve financial goals. 

 

What Your Role Will Be:

 

  • Lead / participate in the identification, development and implementation of fraud analytics initiatives to minimize the potential impact of fraud risk and to deliver on business and financial goals

 

  • Collaborates in development of business case by identifying needs, analyzing potential options and assessing expected return on investment

 

  • Makes recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives, based on an in-depth understanding of the business/group and fraud management programs / processes

 

  • Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.  Work closely with fraud operations and other business partners to ensure new initiatives will be deliverable and executable.

 

  • Ensures alignment between stakeholders within fraud management and with business partners

 

  • Lead and participate in discussions with IT partners and vendors on requirements and solution design

 

  • Builds change management plans of varying scope and type; leads or participates in a variety of change management activities including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation and sustainment of initiatives

 

  • Leads or participates in defining the communication plan designed to positively influence or change behavior; develops tailored messaging; and identifies appropriate distribution channels

 

  • Breaks down strategic problems, analyze data and information to provide insights and recommendations

 

  • Gathers and formats data into regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards to support initiatives.  Monitors and tracks performance, and addresses any issues to support initiatives

 

  • Provides subject matter expertise on fraud and related business issues including products and technology 

 

  • Keeps apprised of industry best practices, emerging trends, development opportunities, new approaches to risk and loss mitigation, emerging technology etc.  Evaluates the impact of industry best practices and emerging trends and makes recommendations related to the business/group environment as appropriate

 

  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement with focus on risk/return while ensuring alignment with Fraud Operations teams

 

  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

 

Skills You Already Have:

 

  • A University degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, business
  • 5+ years analytical experience including advanced statistical analysis, ideally related to Fraud Analytics or Risk Management; ability to draw and communicate key insights from data
  • Strong communication skills essential with clients, vendors and senior management
  • Strong prioritizing, planning, analytical, presentation, project management, and relationship building skills
  • Expert knowledge of applicable risk and regulatory requirements 
  • Experience with software such as SQL, SAS or similar languages such as Python, R, etc.
  • Proficient in building financial models that impact strategic decisions and provide risk analysis
  • Must be self-motivated, energetic and results-oriented and be committed to adding value to the organization
