The Senior Manager, Talent Onboarding Journey, is responsible for designing, implementing and continuously refining a scalable global onboarding experience for any hire who is new to a role. This includes pre-arrival preparation, new hire engagement and cultural integration. This role operates within a journey-based HR operating model, and with cross-functional partners, bringing together people, process, technology, and data to deliver a seamless and consistent experience to drive retention and employee satisfaction.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Design, maintain and implement the enterprise onboarding journey framework and experience using human centered design principles. This includes all aspects of onboarding including stages, personas, and experiences, ensuring it is inclusive and scalable across the enterprise
- Partner across the enterprise (i.e., HR Technology, Talent, Total Rewards, IT, Legal and Communications, etc.) to ensure onboarding standards are embedded into systems and processes, delivering a seamless onboarding experience that is digitally enabled, for all levels of employees
- Enable core teams and people leaders to deliver consistent onboarding standards to drive employee retention and overall satisfaction. Develop and maintain a playbook with guidance to ‘localize’ onboarding design principles to address local geography/business needs
- Ensure alignment with broader HR journeys (e.g., Join, Grow, Perform) and enterprise experience strategies, while integrating agile practices into ways of working
- Provide advisory support to journey owners and HR leaders related to onboarding design decisions.
- Define experience metrics and success measures (i.e., readiness, early engagement, satisfaction (employee and manager), performance, etc.) to increase overall employee retention, engagement and productivity, while reinforcing our employer brand across all onboarding touchpoints
- Use insights, feedback, and external benchmarks to evolve programs and standards over time. Identify friction points and implement improvements that reduce time-to-productivity and increase new hire engagement
- Participate in engagement activities, fostering an inclusive work environment and demonstrating our ScotiaBond behaviours, winning as one team: Results-driven, Shaping the Future, Striving for Better and Inclusive.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Undergraduate degree, preferably with focus on business/human resources or work-related experience.
- CHRP, CHRL or other HR designation, or in progress is an asset.
- Experience designing enterprise programs, frameworks, or methodologies
- Expertise in journey-based, product-aligned or experience-led operating models
- Experience developing playbooks, standards, and governance in large, matrixed organizations
- Strong communications skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Ability to deal effectively with all levels of the organization. Able to collaborate with HR stakeholders and business partners and coach managers. Actively listens and seeks to understand needs with genuine curiosity.
- Strong ability to strategically influence and persuade senior leaders.
- Identify solutions through effective questioning, reasoning, and data analytics
- Strong problem solving, pattern recognition, conflict management, negotiation skills.
- Strong ability to perform independently in a complex, high-change environment while being a positive steward for the global HR team.
- Strong strategic capabilities to assess issues and their potential impact on the Bank’s image and reputation.
- Ability to build strong cross-cultural and cross-divisional team relationships.
