The Senior Manager, Scotia Financial Planning (SFP) Compensation & Operational Programs, is a critical leadership role supporting the SFP channel and is responsible for strategic oversight and continuous improvement of the end-to-end variable compensation administration process. In addition to ensuring all components of compensation are executed accurately and within established SLAs, the Senior Manager plays a pivotal role in identifying and implementing enhancements to streamline operations, strengthen controls, and reduce business risk. This role contributes to the overall success of the SSI Governance and Business Oversight team by driving initiatives that align with the team’s strategic objectives, fostering operational resilience, and ensuring all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Oversee the delivery of core support services for Financial Planners, including onboarding, offboarding, and day-to-day administrative assistance ensuring seamless coordination across HR, IT, and business partners to enable advisor readiness, maintain operational continuity, and uphold service standards throughout the advisor lifecycle
- Ensure service excellence through adherence to SLAs and proactive issue resolution
- Own the full lifecycle of the SFP variable compensation program while aligning to business strategy/goals
- Lead initiatives to modernize process mapping, implement effective controls, and resolve disputes
- Act as a subject matter expert in system enhancements and quality assurance
- Act as senior business partner for SFP with Finance, Total Rewards, HR, and Compliance to ensure that SFP’s variable compensation programs are aligned to corporate expectations and manage a team of subject matter experts on in-coming requests around variable compensation
- Champion operational resilience by identifying and implementing automation opportunities, including AI-driven solutions, to streamline manual workflows and mitigate business risk
- Ensure all operational and compensation processes are clearly documented, continuously updated, and accessible to support team continuity and knowledge sharing
- Champion a client-driven culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
- A University Degree
- 5+ years of experience in the financial industry
- Experience with/working knowledge of Salesforce
- Knowledge of the Canadian Bank branch channel is considered an asset
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Previous experience with variable compensation is considered an asset
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Familiarity with process analysis, operational efficiency, and project management principles
