Purpose
Reporting to the Director, Sales Effectiveness, the Senior Manager, Sales Effectiveness - Strategy and Business Solutions, contributes to the overall success of the Sales Force Effectiveness / IB International Banking group in International Banking ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. They also ensure all activities conducted are compliant with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
What You’ll Do:
- Champions a high-performance sales culture, based on transparency and accountability to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Working closely with internal and external partners on special projects, ongoing initiatives, and new programs as the subject matter expert to advance the objectives and mandate of International Banking.
- Leading continuous improvement initiatives for the business line through integrating innovative ideas, leveraging best practices and recommending and managing changes.
- Responsible for business management and successful delivery of complex strategic, regulatory and other business projects undertaken by IB Commercial Banking
- Provide project management support in the planning, establishing project governance, implementation and reporting phases of the project lifecycle
- Support with issue resolution/escalation and guide decision-making processes as required
- Support with project plan design and execution related to business initiatives and target operating model implementations across IB Commercial Banking footprint
- Performing business analysis to assess the capacity and capabilities of specific Banking units under review, the appropriateness of policies and procedures, and their conformity with audit and/or the ICCB model.
- Developing strategies, programs, and policies that enable and support the client experience at critical touchpoints while also revisiting, analyzing, and entrenching processes, procedures and Service Level Agreements that enable the IB Commercial Banking Sales & Support Delivery Model
- Assist the Director, Sales Effectiveness in conducting periodic touch bases with the IB Commercial Banking units in the field, by assisting in the preparation of the touch bases, and by directly participating (and leading them from time to time).
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

What You'll Bring:
- 3+ years experience in Banking, ideally in the Commercial and/or Wholesale Business Division
- 1-2 years experience in Management Consulting is an asset
- Strong negotiating, influencing and relationship building skills to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Strong project management skills
- Highly developed problem-solving skills
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills to effectively deal with stakeholders at all levels of the organization and deliver messaging on key initiatives.
- Candidate must be Fluent in English and Spanish (written and oral)
Work Arrangement:
Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. Limited travel internationally.
